Perhaps you've always hated that low dip in your yard. You know...where water spilling from the gutter downspout has worn away an ugly gully in the lawn.

If you have a sloping yard, or are at the bottom of a hill, consider yourself lucky! You can easily grow a Rain Garden on your property.

Add vibrant, highly colored native wildflowers from Nature Hills. They will develop and grow very well without much help from you.

Use a long-lasting Prairie-style planting that gets better year after year. Not only will you do your part to create precious habitat, but you'll create a beautifully sustainable landscape feature.

Plant these Spring Raingarden Pocket Garden (Zizia aurea, Baptisia australia, Asclepias incarnata, Eupatorium coelestinum) to create an easy-care flower garden. They deliver a showy display all spring long until well into mid-summer!

Create a Rain Garden! These special landscape plants can play a big role on the berms designed to capture stormwater runoff from driveways, downspouts and fertilized landscapes.

A well-made Rain Garden will drain excess water in less than two days (so mosquitoes won't be a problem). It is an effective, and beneficial way to manage stormwater and improve water quality.

You may even get a tax break for creating one! They can be gorgeous, too, with flowering plants that support honey bees and butterflies.

Best of all, there is no guesswork! Each pocket garden is a 12-pack. It comes with four different plants, and you get three of each type.

Each nectar rich plant in the collection has been selected by the experts at Nature Hills. They all feature that bright coloring, which is a clarion call to local pollinator populations.

You'll receive three Golden Alexander, Blue Wild Indigo, Marsh (Red) Milkweed, and Mistflower plants. Beautiful and beneficial, each kit will work hard to protect your local waterways, including lakes, streams, and rivers.

You'll adore the personality of the sunshine-yellow blooms of Golden Alexander. They are shaped like a flat, airy cluster of tiny blooms arranged in a starburst.

They are perhaps the perfect "Filler" plant to give life and charm to your planting. As you might imagine, they also become a favorite pollen and nectar source for many butterflies and beneficial pollinators.

The rounded, oblanceolate leaves and funky, bumpy fall seedpods of Blue Wild Indigo offer a potent contrast. These small, bushy plants produce the most amazing tall spires of pea-shaped blue flowers.

You'll fall deeply in love with this shade of restful blue-violet. They add a tremendous amount of visual interest in your Rain Garden planting.

Fragrant, showy Marsh (Red) Milkweed is a pollinators delight. Each of the exceptionally showy, pink blooms is composed of dozens of small flowers.

It's a shame to call these weeds...they are way too pretty for that name. Milkweed are actually critical host plants for Monarch caterpillars. Watch later in the season for Monarch chrysalis.

Keep your eyes open and your camera ready. You'll see all kinds of local moths and butterflies visit to work these plants over every day for hours!

Mistflower rounds out the collection with a tiny, powerful "bang"! Butterflies absolutely adore the fluffy, electric violet flowers that liberally cover these marvelous native plants.

The flowers look so sweet, with fine hairs radiating outward from small discs that are held in plentiful clusters. But these durable native plants are rugged enough to be considered "low-maintenance".

You can feel really good about making this easy decision to buy an expert collection of wildflowers. Solve some of your toughest landscape challenges with a sculpted Rain Garden.

Go ahead and push that easy button! Place your order for one or add several Spring Rain Garden Pocket Gardens to your cart.

How to Use Spring Rain Garden Pocket Garden in the Landscape

If you have any kind of challenging water issue on your land, add a Rain Garden. You'll create a wonderfully easy-care garden feature with these water-loving perennials.

Add an oversized frog statue to the side of the planting. "Plant" an outdoor mermaid statue rising from the middle of the bed.

This is the place to let your whimsy rise to the surface. Life is short, you know?

Consider the rounded form of tall Blue Wild Indigo as an anchor. Plant in a loose triangle to ground the Rain Garden.

Next, place the Milkweed where it will have a little elbow room. These valuable plants deserve a special place of honor.

Space these two types of plants three feet on center away from their neighbor. Measure from the center of one to the center the next.

Be patient with Blue Wild Indigo, as it develops robust roots that support the eventual bushy growth habit. Give them time to develop their "star power"—it's well worth it.

Pop in the bright Golden Alexander to fill space between the larger plants in the mid-ground. They can be planted 12 to 18 inches on center.

If you want a natural-looking planting, we recommend that you vary the spacing and use a gentle, zig-zagging planting pattern. Create long drifts of color by doubling up plants in some areas.

Save the Mistflowers as a very showy accent near the edge of the bed. Plant them in long groups for a mass of similar flowers to draw your eye. You'll be pleased by their purple fall color, too!

Frankly, it's thrilling to see these beautiful native plants come back each year. Enjoy your meaningful new landscape feature!

Feeling ambitious? Add a low-slung wooden pier and deck when you are building out your Rain Garden. Place a cozy glider or set of hammock chairs on the deck.

Just bring the citronella candles with you, as you'll be sharing the space!

#ProPlantTips for Care

Call before you dig. You won't want to plant over underground utilities.

Full sun is best for the best flower performance and stem sturdiness. Give them at least six hours of sunlight a day.

For the first season, ensure the new planting receives a regular amount of water each week. If you ever have a long drought, protect your investment with regular water.

You can create amazing cut flower bouquets with help from these plants by snipping the blooms once fully open. You'll encourage a new flush of blooms, and decorate your home at the same time.

In early spring, snip the dried stalks to an inch above ground level. It's okay if you have to skip a year and leave the old growth standing and allow new growth to fill in around it.

We do recommend that you get into a schedule of regular upkeep every other year or so. You'll want to take out "volunteer" trees and remove pernicious weeds quickly.

It won't take long before you are enjoying the colorful benefits of a Rain Garden. Order your Spring Rain Garden Pocket Garden now!
