#ProPlantTips for Care:
The Spirit of Memphis Tall Bearded Iris prefers full sun or partial shade. So, you can locate yours under your favorite window or along your foundation. As long as it's planted in moderate to low moisture in quick-draining soil this Iris can perform well. Cover the roots with a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch to hold moisture in the soil better and insulate the rhizomes.
For the best reblooms, provide your Spirit of Memphis Tall Bearded Iris with fertilizer in early spring and the beginning of July. This bubbly bloomer is drought-tolerant most of the year and likes deep watering after it blooms.
Information About Bare Root Iris
Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots. Container plants are well-grown in the nursery for several years in their container to establish a strong root system.
When planting Iris, which are best planted in early to mid-fall, ensure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover them in the spring.
