The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Are you looking to add a little playful whimsy to your garden? The Corkscrew Rush plant (Juncus effusus f. spiralis) will add loads of it! This striking plant never fails to get double-takes, compliments, and comments! Growing into upright clumps, 10-12 inches tall but spreading 12-18 inches wide, Corkscrew Rushadds a completely new dimension of texture to your landscape. Occasionally the spiraling foliage is accented by unusual tufts of white flowers that become extra whimsical spikey round seedpods along tall slender stems during the summer!

Planting and Application:
Looking like Grass having a bad hair day (or maybe a really good one!), Corkscrew Rush's twisty, curly, springy foliage provides standout texture around your water features, ponds, and Rain Gardens! Even doing fantastically in a barrel rain garden with a little bubbling fountain! Big or small, your water garden ecosystem will benefit from these unique perennial plants!
Combine Spiralis Rush with wider-leaved water garden plants like Flag Iris, or for a lush, wild look among equally whimsical Papyrus plants! For a truly eye-popping juxtaposition try planting it with ram-rod straight Soft Rush Grass or fine and flowy Bottlebrush Sedge Grass. Mix and match with larger Corkscrew Grasses like Big Twister!
Thriving in marshes, swamps, and other soggy areas in nature, Rush Grasses like Corkscrew can spread by rhizomes and will even remain evergreen in mild winter climates. In-ground or in containers, you'll love these quirky little plants!

#ProPlantTips for Care
Corkscrew Rush likes full sun or partial shade and lots, and lots of water. It can even thrive in standing water at the edge of a pond so long as it isn't stagnant. Provide regular moisture access for plants located in average garden soils. In cooler climes, the foliage becomes yellow, then brown in fall to winter dying back to the ground like a perennial. In warm climates, it can be semi-to-fully evergreen. Either way, clean and prune the mounds in the very early spring for best results.
- Full Sun & Part Shade
- Moist Soil & Tolerates Average Soil Moisture
- Well-Drained Environments
- Prune Back Early Spring
- Rarely Damaged By Deer
The fun and quirky Corkscrew Rush Grass will provide a truly unique look for your garden, but only if you order yours today at Nature Hills Nursery!
