Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Perfectly poised Slim 'N Trim Camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Slim 'n Trim') makes a loveable addition to your landscape. This early to midseason bloomer produces an abundance of charming, dark pink blooms that each feature seven notched petals held flat around a center of bright yellow stamens.
You'll never worry about Slim 'N Trim Camellia outgrowing its allotted space. This top choice fits beautifully in modern lots without sacrificing any style!
Planting and Application:
Even the fine-textured broadleaved-evergreen foliage adds a delicate look to this fetching Camellia. Glossy, dark green and pointed leaves are an outstanding contrast to the welcome simplicity of the lovely light pink flowers.
- Create a showy hedge of Slim 'N Trim Camellia anywhere you want a little privacy...even in tight side yards! Space them 30 inches apart on center, measuring from the center of one to the center of the next.
- Use them as a beautiful backdrop for your perennial gardens; or add several at one end of your patio planting bed for a little strategic privacy. Even a single plant makes a dense screen in just the right spot!
- The blooms of this lovely, slender shrub occur at a time when little else is blooming in the garden. Create a sensation with a pair of them planted like sentries on either side of your front door.
- Slim 'N Trim Camellia can be grown in containers on terraces, patios and balconies. Buy an odd number for a series of sleek, matching containers and space them evenly for a high-end effect.
- In the landscape, try spacing them further apart for a stunning focal point. They will grow into individual vertical accents...play with geometric patterns or use a more organic, free-form planting pattern.
#ProPlantTips for Care:
For the best results, site Slim 'N Trim Camellia where it will receive at least four hours of sunlight daily. Their root systems require well-drained soil that won't stay wet for long.
- Gain life-long support for these valuable landscape assets with symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster formula used in the planting hole. Get expert planting tips from the NatureHills.com Horticulture team.
- For best results, apply supplemental water to protect your investment. Apply a layer of pine bark mulch over the top of the root system, taking care to pull it back away from directly touching the stems.
- Prune in early spring to shape as needed and to remove any damaged branches. Fertilize with a flowering Acid Lovers formula in early spring, reading label instructions for application rates and reapplication schedule.
