Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 3-7
Wide-growing ground-hugger, the bright evergreen Sierra Spreader Juniper (Juniperus sabina 'Sierra Spreader') is an amazing Juniper, well-known for its weed-choking bright green foliage. Deceivingly spikey, these actually have soft foliage. Low-growing and tightly branched, the foliage holds its color through winter's cold and summer's heat.
Sierra Spreader has a wonderful sculptural interest and is a living carpet of bright evergreen. Plus the fresh, verdant fragrance that only a quality Juniper can emit. Plus, berries for birds in the fall and winter, Juniper are beautiful shrubs with year-round appeal.
Cold-hardy throughout USDA planting zones 3 to 7, Sierra Spreader only grows about a foot tall but can take up a sizeable 5-8 feet wide spreading form! The tousled airy branches transform into a bronzy hue for the fall and winter!
Landscape Application:
The handsome bright-green foliage looks best unpruned however, you can if needed. Sierra Spreader is slower spreading because of its dense growth. Spreading outwards to 6' wide, smothering weeds as it grows, Juniper is a widely-used groundcover, prized for its size, color, and versatility!
The ability to grow in poor, rocky soil makes these perfect in Xeric borders, hell strips along the road or sidewalk, rock gardens, and urban areas. Displaying great salt tolerance, it's wonderful for coastal sites.
Lovely in Asian and Zen-inspired gardens, these are also perfectly sized for containers. Juniper is wonderful for those hot sunny spots where it can be a carefree addition as a spiller plant.
Mass plantings of Sierra Spreader bring lush greenery to harsh sunny slopes and spill over retaining walls, and are great on hillsides as erosion control!
- Spikey Soft Bright-Green Foliage
- Fragrant Evergreen Needles
- Very Wide & Very Low Growing Groundcover
- Bronzed Fall & Winter Cast
- Rock Gardens, Erosion Control & Great for Mass Plantings
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Doing amazing in full sun, Sierra Spreader handles a little shade without losing color. Sierra Spreader Juniper is very hardy and adaptive to a variety of conditions. Especially heat tolerant they're also resistant to winter injury. Not particular to soil type, any well-drained, sandy, rocky, or highly aerated soil will do just fine. The only thing Junipers dislike is wet, soggy soil that will rot its roots. Deer will tend to pass it by unless they are desperate.

- Grows Best In Well-Drained Soils - Tolerates Rocky & Poor Soil
- Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
- Durable Drought Resistant Shrub
