To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Aromatic royal purple/blue spikes of the dark and dramatic Salvatore Blue Salvia (Salvia nemorosa 'Salvatore Blue') adds depth and upright interest to garden beds and planters! Even the foliage is aromatic!
Salvia forms dense clumps of mounded, textured foliage that dramatically highlights the tall waving wands full of dark purple-blue flowers and dark stems. Like frilly bottlebrushes, these vertical spikes, composed of multiple smaller blooms, are a bee and butterfly magnet! Even hummingbirds drop by for a visit!
Salvatore Blue is a very hardy perennial flowering ornamental that is highly adaptable to a wide range of conditions from moist to dry soil, sun to part shade throughout the USDA growing zones 4 - 8. Xeric once established, any garden bed or border, pot or planter suits these tough plants just fine!
Planting and Application:
Salvatore Blue is a natural in the pollinator garden and cutting border! The dark spikes of flowers look as lovely as edging and beckoning you along a pathway as they do in a floral arrangement or mixed-planter! The dense clumps of foliage spread into a weed-blocking mat that spills over edges of walls, rocks, garden edges and container sides as nicely as any other spiller, but with the added benefit of those dark upright blooms!
Rock gardens and that hell-strip along the road or driveway have met their match with these Xeric plants. Handling full sun like a champ, Salvias blooms in profusion from spring until early summer, and with deadheading, you'll enjoy wave after wave of blooms until frost!

Growing Salvia is easy. It thrives in hot sunny sites with very well-drained soils. Once established they are highly xeric and drought tolerant. Plant in about any kind of soil as long as it does not get soggy. Provide a thick layer of Arborist mulch to insulate the roots and maintain consistent soil moisture.
