To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

One of the most popular shrubs with commercial landscapers, the Blue Bird Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Bird') produces a nearly true-blue, pale to medium-dark blue, that slightly fade at the edges into a luscious lavender. Highlighted by a deep magenta eye at the bottom of the throat and has large white, and is accented by a lacy, creamy white, to pale yellow stamens!
A moderate grower, Althea are also pollution-tolerant, which is why you'll find these flowering ornamental shrubs are used extensively in city and commercial landscapes! Its attractive and plentiful blooms make Blue Bird fully capable of holding its own as a specimen! Bees, butterflies, and even a few Hummingbirds will make your garden their favorite summer and autumn pitstop for pollen and nectar resources!
Related to Hardy and Tropical Hibiscus, Althea are profuse bloomers and not only flower late but leaf out late as well, so have patience in the spring. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 8, these lovely shrubs grow to a vigorous and rounded 8 to 10 feet in height while spreading 5-6 feet in width.

Not only easy to grow and low maintenance, but Blue Bird is also easy to shape Rose of Sharon and make a tree-form accent! Or keep the lower limbs intact and your shrub can become a prime candidate for hedges! Rose of Sharon prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Easy to grow in any average soil - even very dry or very alkaline - Rose of Sharon will change the way you see this wonderful group of shrubs! Altheas performs well in almost any soil, except if it's too dry or too wet. This easy-care plant is a perfect choice, whether you are a beginner or have years of landscaping experience. Rose of Sharon loves sunshine! Plant it in a spot where they will get at least six hours of sunlight a day, but in hotter climates, they can handle some afternoon shade. Provide a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. Use a three-inch layer of arborist mulch over the top of the root system to keep them nice and cool. Apply a slow-release fertilizer designed for flowering plants at the same time.
This gorgeous shrub blooms on new wood, so prune Althea in early spring to either shape or control the height. You'll have flowers later that season, no matter how tightly you trim them in spring. You can even train these shrubs into multi or single-stemmed tree forms! Renewal prune every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.
