The glorious Red Knock Out® Shrub Rose (Rosa 'Radrazz') is a remarkably hardy shrub that produces amazing red Roses. One would look spectacular by your front door, or plant several along a patio or perennial bed for a long-lasting blast of color. Your Red Knock Out® Shrub Rose will be an ever-producing, long-lasting explosion of color for your yard. Once you plant this exceptional Rose variety you'll enjoy sumptuous floral brilliance every year from May until the first frost!

Every single bloom is a stunning cherry red with a diameter of up to 5 inches, and a soft, Tea Rose scent. The Roses continually bloom, but even if there's a slight pause, you'll enjoy how the new leaves begin their lives with a reddish tint, later transitioning to dark green. When autumn arrives the foliage changes once again to a deep purple shade. For winter, the orange hips will seem to pop out amid the dreary landscape like tiny ornaments amid the dark branches.

The brilliant red flowering Knock Out® Rose comes alive with more cherry red than green. Its blooms offer a luxurious display on a low-maintenance plant. You can pick them for a whole anniversary party, fill table bouquets and vases all season, and still have plenty left to enjoy on the plant. Much to the pleasure of your pollinators who arrive to check out your blooms!

It has excellent hardiness and disease resistance so doesn't always need the fungicide treatments that many other Roses do, and is generally maintenance-free. It's even drought-tolerant and only requires three hours of sunshine a day for its bloom (unlike many other Rose varieties). Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 through 9 and grow to a modest 2-3 feet in height, but spread a nice 3-4 feet in width!

Planting and Application:

It's that rare variety of Landscape Shrub Rose that you can plant and enjoy without a lot of fuss. The tidy spread of this long-blooming Shrub Rose makes it as perfect as a Groundcover Rose for flowering ornamental 'living mulch' between larger shrubs and as edging along pathways and the edges of garden beds.

No property? No problem! Plant them in a pot, and use Knock Out® to decorate your sun-drenched balcony or porch. Just give yourself and your guests some "wiggle room" to move past it, as those thorns are no joke! Larger planters and year-round porch pots will add long-lasting blooms to your patio and even balconies! The butterflies will adore the blossoms and stop by for a visit.

Use in lower water-use gardens, as Firewise landscaping buffer zones, and watch as that hell strip lights up with color and charm! Imagine several of them planted together for a big impact! These plants make excellent additions to foundation plantings. Plant them two feet apart on center to create low hedges that grow together.

Add a single specimen to your cottage and perennial beds and borders, or accent your home's front steps, mailbox, or near driveways to welcome you home! Use a pair flanking on either side of your front door, or create interest with grouped accents and anchors planted at the corners of your home.

Or, use multiple rows planted in a staggered zigzagging pattern to fill a wide, open area. You'll appreciate how easy care your new mass planting spectacle is when you fill large areas in profuse red blooms! Go for the gusto and mix and match with other double and single Knock Out® Roses for a rainbow display!

Sometimes Knock Out® Roses form orange Rose Hips in the autumn and look great as winter décor and as winter interest. Birds love these showy Hips and they can be made into tea and preserves.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

For the best performance, Roses need full sun, good air circulation, and well-drained soil. Enjoy their engaging red flowers and small green leaves for many years! Plant Shrub Roses in a location with good air circulation and provide regular, moderate moisture access. All plants enjoy a topdressing of 3-4 inches of arborist mulch. These Roses are disease-resistant to black spot and powdery mildew and also adapt to a variety of conditions.

If you wish to give them a trim, pruning is best done in early spring if needed. Read all you need about Rose pruning here, and about winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses inspiring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
