The bright green toothy foliage and long slender stems, pump out these large blooms from summer into fall until frost. Hummingbirds and butterflies are drawn to these blossoms as magnetically as you and your garden visitors will be! Snip these blooms for floral bouquets indoors to fill your vases with these glorious blooms!

Decorative Dahlias are incredible blooms that are hardy throughout USDA growing zones 9-11 as perennial tubers. All other growing zones can enjoy Dahlia as either a wonderful houseplant or you can store the tubers indoors for the winter by simply digging them in the fall.

Sunny to part shade courtyards and cut flower gardens are perfect locations for these wonderful blooms. Plant in cottage and perennial borders that are in need of some brilliance. #ProPlantTips for Care:

Dahlia blooms best in full sun to partial sun locations and prefers a wide range of soil types, as long as it is well-drained. Soak the tubers for a few hours before planting and plant them with their fingers spread out gently and pointing downwards. Water well and maintain consistent moisture, adding 3-4 inches of mulch helps considerably.

Dahlia tubers can be dug after frost and stored in all growing zones! Dig up the plants after the first frost to save your tubers for the next year. Let them dry out, and then place them into paper bags or boxes in a cool place and sprinkle a little water on the tubers periodically to keep them from drying out. In a frost-free climate, leave the tubers in the ground and trim the stems once they die back.
