The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

A Paper Birch with endless ornamental features! You can stop looking for a tree that will make your landscaping a dream come true because before you stands the Prairie Dream® Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera 'Varen')!
The exceptional snow-white bark with the most intriguing dark green foliage fades into a rich golden-yellow coloration in the fall months. This tree can either grow with a single trunk or multi-trunk form but the more trunks the merrier - allowing Prairie Dream® to show off that snow-white exfoliating bark!
Exceptionally cold-hardy throughout USDA planting zones 2 to 7, these trees thrive in cool, moist locations and climates. Spring also brings unique caterpillar-like catkins followed by papery seedpods for extra interest. Even in the winter, this tree has the incredible ornamental feature of its bright snow-white bark. It's hard to find a tree with the capability to attract people throughout the winter months, but this tree has no problem doing so!
Landscape Application:
You can make the Prairie Dream® tree bark stand out that much more by planting it next to dark evergreen trees, which will make the colors of your Prairie Dream® Paper Birch pop dramatically!
Featuring an impressive size, this tree can grow 40 - 50 feet in height and its many stems can spread 30 - 40 feet wide. Creating their own grouped effect that looks even better when you create odd-numbered groupings. The light shade created by these trees won't shade out your turf grass but will create cooling lawn features where a seating area or reading chair becomes a must-have beneath these elegant branches.
If you need a specimen tree to make your landscaping look appealing in all months, then your prayers have been answered with the Prairie Dream® Paper Birch. From front yard berms to backyard patios, all benefit from these graceful lawn trees!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Planting your Prairie Dream® Paper Birch tree in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade (afternoon shade especially when planting in hotter growing zones) will allow it to grow with the strongest branching. Provide regular moderate moisture access for your plants and try to not let Birch go through drought dry. Use a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the root zone to keep soil moisture more consistent and insulate the roots.
Like Maples, Birch trees have sap that runs in the spring, so avoid pruning until after they are in flower to remove crossing branches and winter dieback.
- Full Sun & Part Shade
- Likes Well-Drained Soil
- Consistent Moisture Needs
- Appreciates Mulched Beds
- Prune Late Spring
Throughout every season, you will be blessed with the most beautiful colors and ornamental features in your backyard thanks to this tree! Order your very own Prairie Dream® Paper Birch today at Nature Hills Nursery!
Single Stem, Multi Stem, Shrub Form, Oh My!
Before you buy, make sure you know what you’re getting! Single-stem, multi-stem, and shrub forms are different so read a bit about which we’re currently offering below.
Single Stem:
These are plants that have one stem coming from the ground. Plants can also be considered single stems when lower branches are removed to raise the height of the branching. Sometimes, you will hear a single stem referred to as Tree Form.
Multi Stem:
These are plants with 2 or more stems planted together in the ground in close proximity to form a clump. There are times when multi-stems are formed by a tree that branches at the soil line with more than one main stem.
Shrub Form:
These are bushy plants with many stems and branches close to the ground. They are referred to as shrubs or bushes and are often shorter than their tree forms.
