The Powderblue Rabbiteye Blueberry (Vaccinium ashei 'Powderblue') is a deciduous shrub that produces delicious, healthy fruit! Sometimes spelled two words, the Powder Blue Blueberry is a Rabbiteye type, so named because the berries are pink before transitioning to their ripe blue. Rabbiteye Blueberries are known for being sweeter, hardier, and typically freeze better while also well-known for their health benefits, vitamins, and antioxidants among other beneficial attributes!

Powder Blue produces delicate white flowers in late spring-early summer and easily brings in pollinators! This is especially helpful, not just for its beauty but because a late bloom helps protect your Blueberry from late freezes. Ripening mid to late season, the berries are large and light blue!

The effect of the clusters of up to 50 pretty berries against the green foliage is enchanting, only contributed to by the powdered look of the berries, as if sprinkled with fairy dust as they await the excitement of the harvest. Not self-fertile, Powderblue should be planted with a pollinator plant, try an Alapaha, Brightwell, Tifblue, and Ocklockonee
