Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Deep, dark and dramatic, the Peter Stuyvesant Hyacinth (Hyacinthus 'Peter Stuyvestant') is an incredibly dark purple bloom with all the same gorgeous fragrance, ease of care, and low maintenance towers of blooms that the family is known for!

Hyacinth bulbs may not be the earliest emerging spring ephemeral flowers, but they are the most dramatic! Bridging the gap between Crocus and Tulips, these giant wands of flowers rise up from the center of strappy rosettes of upright green each year! Heavenly fragranced and featuring large towers of blossoms, each bulb sends up at least one heavily festooned stem per year!

These flowering perennial spring bulbs are among the easiest to care for and lowest maintenance spring beauties you can ask for! Novice gardeners and busy landscapers both enjoy the plant-and-forget nature of these spring delights!

Planting and Application:

Peter Stuyvesant looks incredible as a formal border and edging plant as well as a focal point of dramatic color among perennial gardens and country borders! Small and space-saving enough for pots and planters anywhere sunny as well as that narrow strip along the driveway or sidewalk, leading you along garden paths with enticing perfume!

Great gift plants, you can force these vibrant purple blooms as winter décor. Pot up among other spring bulbs in mixed-planters for an otherworldly focal point, or interspersed throughout your shrub beds, your home's front landscaping or among larger plants without the worry that these bulbs will overtake or become crowded. You'll be glad you placed a few in your cutting garden for huge blossoms for your spring bouquets!

  • Dark Purple Flower Spikes
  • Green Upright Foliage Clumps
  • Incredible Fragrance!
  • Perennial Spring Bulbs
  • Force Indoors or Plant in Outdoor Containers

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Hyacinthus bulbs need to be planted in the fall before a hard frost in your growing zone. Place the bulbs with pointy ends up in 4-inch holes and 6 inches apart. In colder regions, plant 6 inches deep to keep them safe over winter. They need well-drained soil with full sun to partial sun.

  • Full Sun & Part Shade
  • Moderate Moisture
  • Enriched, Well-Drained Soil
  • Mulched Beds
  • Deadhead After Bloom is Spent

Peter Stuyvesant Hyacinth bulbs are perfect additions to add depth of color to your landscape this year! Shipped right on time in fall from NatureHills.com!
