Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 8-10
Truly artistic blooms, the gorgeous violet to lilac ruffled petals of the Passos Gladiolus (Gladiolus 'Passos') are unlike any tall flowering perennial imaginable! These Gladiolas feature darker violet-purple throats and dark striped petals on each alternating flower along the spike! Florists love Gladiolas because they bloom from the bottom up, for a long-lasting display! Also known as Sword Lilies, these painted-looking blooms are incredibly eye-catching!
These Butterfly-friendly blooms can stand nearly 6 feet tall and provide impressive vertical color and waving sculptural texture to your landscape, to large container plantings and garden beds and borders! Space-saving plants, even the foliage is vertical, with tall green sword-like leaves! When not in bloom, the leaves become architectural cottage and perennial garden accents! Imagine a tall vase in your home full of these incredible erect blooms!
Perennial corms in USDA growing zones 8-10, the midsummer blooms work as fast-growing annual accents in all other growing zones. Northern growers can dig the corms up in the fall once the foliage has yellowed and store them for the winter in a frost-free location.
Planting and Application:
Combined with their height, symmetry and saturated color, Gladiolas look phenomenal in a wide range of garden types, styles, and growing zones! Create drifts and rows in tight spots, groupings in corners, along paths, or against a fence line or rock wall for height and color! You'll love the waving motion and feel these upright perennial bulbs lend your landscape!
Passos Gladiolus will attract pollinators and hummingbirds in droves! Plus bees and hummingbirds too! These space-saving flowering corms fit easily into existing and established gardens and any garden becomes a cut flower garden with a few Gladiolas! You will love the grand bouquets and vase arrangements you'll create with these upright blooms!
Long-lasting color, these flower spikes can bloom for a couple of weeks! For a longer display or staggered bloom, plant your corms two weeks apart for wave after wave of flowers all summer!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Gladiolus bloom best in full sun and partial shade in a protected location. For especially windy sites, these especially tall stems do well when provided staking to keep them from flopping. Plant your corms in well-drained, organically rich soil that has moderate, consistent moisture.
Deadhead after the flowers fade and keep the leaves until they turn yellow to make food for the corms. In the fall, lift your bulbs out of the ground and store them in a nylon stocking or brown paper bag in a cool, dry location with good ventilation above freezing. Each year you’ll notice more and more little corms forming around the base of the parent corm for more blooms each year!
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Moderate Moisture Needs
- Organic Well-Drained Soil
- Deadhead After Blooms Fade & Prune or Dig in Fall
