Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 6 - 9
The fun life of the party, the Party Lights™ Osmanthus (Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Party Lights') is just the spring celebration your landscape needs! With an amazingly eye-catching spring display of variegated pink, cream, and yellow foliage, these variegated shrubs become good sized broadleaf evergreens with incredible color and flowers that are ready to party!
Also known as Tea Olive, Party Lights™ transforms into dark green foliage for the rest of the growing season with spiny pointed leaves reminiscent of Holly! The small fragrant white flowers are a boon to pollinators and appear along the branches each fall and become non edible little fruit that birds will seek out.
Related to and a great alternative to Privet, Party Lights™ Osmanthus has a naturally compact form that is attractive in more ways than one throughout USDA growing zones 6 to 9. Forming a rounded upright shrub 4-5 feet in height but just 3 feet wide, you gain space-saving color anywhere in the sun!
Planting and Application:
Colorful specimens and focal points, the versatile Party Lights™ Osmanthus amp up the color by planting in groups! The upright nature looks great in the spring when the variegated leaves show off their dramatic coloration, as year-round foundation accents and landscape color!
For colorful hedges and privacy, plant rows of Osmanthus that double as screening, property division and spiny home defense that makes trespassers think twice. Foundation plantings gain year-round color and landscape beds gain an incredible backdrop planting that highlights everything else planted before it!
- Dramatic Pink, Yellow & Cream Variegation on New Growth
- Tiny White Blossoms Are Fragrant & Become Tiny Fruit
- Spiny Holly-Like Leaves & Upright Form
- Pollinator & Songbird-Friendly
- Hedges, Privacy, Specimens, Backdrops & Barrier Plantings!
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Osmanthus at least four hours a day but have the best color in full sun. Well-drained soil is a must. They'll grow nicely even in Clay soil, as long as the water drains away quickly. Elevate in a raised bed, if you need to. Apply a medium amount of water on a regular basis. Even though this tough plant survives periodic droughts, you'll protect your investment with supplemental water. Mulch also supports your plants incredibly, so add a three-inch layer over the root system, but please pull it back from the stems.
Prune to shape or shear in late winter. Keep the base wider than the top to ensure plenty of sunlight at the base of your beautiful Party Lights™. Every year, your plantings should look better and better. Apply a slow-release evergreen fertilizer formula as directed on the label.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Well-Drained Acidic Soil
- Moderate Moisture & Drought-Tolerance Once Established
- Prune After Flowering In Winter/Very Early Spring
- Appreciates Mulched Beds & Slow-Release Fertilizer
