Growing Zones 5-10
Luscious blooms on a hardy shrub, the Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Oso Easy® Cherry Pie PP#19,258 (Rosa x 'Meiboulka') is a Groundcover Shrub Rose variety with rich color that won't be missed in your landscape! Just as the name implies, a succulent splash of cherry-red color on an easy-to-care-for plant. The show begins in early summer when the large, single blossoms appear! Each Wild-Rose-like bloom is accented by a bright white eye like a landing pad for pollen and nectar-hungry bees and butterflies!
Each cherry-red flower opens with bright yellow stamens in late May, a captivating sight against the glossy green foliage. The gorgeous flowers blanket your Oso Easy® Shrub Roses all summer and right into fall, sometimes until the first frost! It's the perfect way to add reliable, prolific blooms to your yard that will do well year after year.
It's a hardy, low-maintenance Landscaping Shrub Rose and Groundcover Rose, that's disease resistant and even cold-hardy! Thriving in a wide range of USDA growing zones 5 to 10, Oso Easy® Roses are very low maintenance, and quickly mature to its 2-4 foot tall and wide rounded form each year and bloom prolifically and reliability each year!
Planting and Application:
Plant one in your Rose garden, use it as a foundation plant or perhaps scatter a few around the yard where you could use a splash of color from a carefree plant. Perfect around seating areas, sprucing up a Rock Garden or lining a pathway with cheerful red blooms, or accenting a cut flower garden so you can enjoy months of playful blossoms for your bouquets!
This Shrub Rose is ideal for groupings that birds love to roost and nest in while creating a low, thorny barrier that few will want to tangle with. Try Cherry Pie in mass plantings and property-defining rows that stop traffic! This is a perfect choice for adding color to perennial borders. Even the glossy green foliage looks fantastic as a backdrop planting or as a specimen to accent your other perennials and shrubs.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Oso Easy® Groundcover Roses in a place with plenty of full sun and air circulation. They need at least six hours of direct light a day for strong stems and the best flower power. Provide a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. Maximize the performance with Nature Hills Root Booster during planting, then mulch to a depth of 3-4 inches, pulling it back away from the stems. Container-grown plants need well-drained soil and a careful schedule of water. Try drip irrigation systems to make things very easy on yourself. Rake and bag all fallen foliage in late fall. In early spring and mid-summer, apply a slow-release fertilizer for flowering plants.
Prune in early spring down to eight inches to maintain plenty of dense branching. Want more info about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
