Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Dramatic delicate and fringed double blooms, the Orange Impact Dahlia (Dahlia 'Orange Impact') almost has triple the petals in these pompom-like balls of vibrant orange! With pale yellow centers that you can barely see through all the layers upon layers of petals!

The bright green foliage has toothy margins and creates a lovely backdrop for these big juicy-hued blooms! The strong yet elegant, slender stems hold these large full blooms aloft for pollinators to drop by for a visit. These flowers are long-lasting with wave after wave of new buds appearing until frost.

Orange Impact Dahlia is a Fimbriated type of bloom and flowers freely from midsummer until fall in all growing zones. In-ground hardy year-round in USDA growing zones 9 through 11, Dahlia tubers are fantastic annual and seasonal accents in all growing zones, or Northern growers can bring Dahlia indoors for the winter as houseplants!

Planting and Application:

Outdoors year-round, Dahlia tubers are fantastic in-round ornamentals for winding and bunching throughout the garden bed and border! Use in rows to maximize their effect by planting along paths and walkways. Pollinator borders and cutting gardens gain a boost of big, flouncy blooms, while cottage gardens and courtyards enjoy romantic, easy-to-care-for garden additions! Even Hummingbirds adore these frilly pompoms!

Orange Impact Dahlias are perfectly-sized for planters and containers! Pot up in urns to show these flowers off the best, or in front entry planters for a grand, space-saving, display! Use these enormous vibrant blooms as focal points, specimen plants, and their greenery mounds as fillers! The mounds of toothy greenery not only highlight the blooms but provides wonderful backdrops to other flowers in mixed planters on porches, patios, and sunny balconies!

  • Giant Extra Full Ruffled Orange Blooms
  • Bright Green Mounds of Toothy Foliage
  • Strong Stems & Long-Lasting Flowers
  • Blooming Summer Til Fall
  • Container Plants, Pollinators, Beds, Borders & Specimen

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Dahlia tubers are fast growing and bloom all growing season. Plant in full sun or partial shade, they prefer a wide range of soil types as long as the location is well-drained. Ensure even moisture, by adding 3-4 inches of mulch helps considerably. Soak the tubers for a few hours before planting and plant them with their fingers spread out gently and pointing downwards. Dahlia tubers can be dug after frost, then place in paper bags or boxes of sand in a cool place and sprinkle a little water on the tubers periodically to keep them from drying out.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Well-Drained Organic Soil
  • Moderate Consistent Moisture
  • Dig Tubers in Cold Zones in Fall After Frost
  • Appreciates Regular Fertilizer
