Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-9
Unique color and impressive form, the Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) is a unique type of Hydrangea with leaves that resemble their namesake. These deep green, quilted leaves have toothed margins and brown undersides that add interest - especially when they flutter in the breeze! Once the chill enters the air in the autumn, you'll enjoy red and purple fall colors on these hardy native shrubs!
You'll adore the lovely white panicles of creamy white florets held on tall upright stems each May through July. These creamy and fragrant blooms attract Butterflies who adore these blooms and arrive to sip the nectar. In autumn, the florets fade to pink then pale out to a botanical tan and persist on the plant through fall. You can snip these fresh or dried blooms for your bouquets and crafts for lovely décor indoors and out!
Oakleaf Hydrangea are deciduous shrubs that grow well in USDA growing zones 5 through 9 and can fairly quickly reach a 6-8 foot height and width. Though you can control their size with annual pruning. Widely adaptable and easy to grow, these native species can tolerate a wide range of soil and moisture conditions.
Planting and Application:
This shrub adds a certain cultivated 'wildness' to your landscape. You won't be disappointed with an Oakleaf Hydrangea in your shady garden beds and borders. Plant en masse for wide coverage and erosion control in the shade, or along your home's property and foundation plantings to fill long swaths of ground in unique blooms! You'll love the screening and privacy a hedge of these shrubs create! Great backdrops and anchors, these shrubs show off all growing season long!
These remarkable shrubs can tolerate a wide range of conditions and work great in any dappled shade location. A single specimen filling a corner of your yard becomes not just a prominent accent but also a bird-friendly shelterbelt and nesting location. Plant before your shelterbelts and windbreaks to soften hard lines and break up the monotony! Snip a few of the Oakleaf tall panicle blossoms for your bouquets and dried décor!
Birds and butterflies are supported by these native bushes for food and shelter. The leaves are food for butterfly and moth larvae as host plants and provide a habitat for a wide range of wildlife.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Oakleaf Hydrangea handles most soil types, as long as they are well-drained, and blooms best in partial sun or part shade. In the south, it appreciates afternoon shade and in the north, it prefers being protected from the coldest winds. Plant in soil that's well-drained and enriched. Mulch the root system well and maintain moderate yet consistent moisture all growing season. It blooms on old growth, so prune it after it finishes blooming in late summer.
