Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. The Northcap Tulip bulb plant (Tulipa 'Northcap') are elegant perennial bulbs that look like whipped confectionery cream than a flower! Featuring large, round double blooms of ruffled and touseled white petals, they almost look good enough to eat!

Northcap is gracefully held aloft on strong stems above neat, compact clusters of wide blades of green and form charming rosettes! Emerging in spring, the blooms top off the landscape with the subtly sweet fragrance that members of the Tulip family are known for!

These flowering bulbs have incredible cold hardiness and ease of care that even a novice gardener can manage, and the size is ideal for anyone with a small yard! But these double blossoms will have a dramatic impact for sure! They multiply on their own over time without ever crowding!

Planting and Application:

Add creamy white whipped cream blooms among rock gardens, pollinator beds and pathway edges, grouping or creating rows to best showcase these illustrious plants! Use as edging and fast-growing, low border plants for butterflies and curious onlookers! Northcap is a lovely thriller and focal point in bridal white bouquets, so be sure to include a few in the cutting garden!

Mix into any perennial garden bed, without worry the roots will crowd out other plants. Once the blooms fade, the foliage then accepts the shade from the larger plants when they leaf out later in the spring! No room, or in a growing zone that doesn't support these bulbs? Plant in containers as an annual for porches and planter decoration all spring long!

  • Large Round Double Blossoms
  • Creamy & Dreamy White Ruffled Petals
  • Strappy Wide Green Rosettes
  • Cold Hardy Perennial Bulb
  • Late Spring Color in Beds, Borders & Planters

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Fall-planted bulbs should be planted in the fall 6 to 8 weeks before the ground freezes. Plant the bulbs pointed end up and at least 8-inches deep. The location should be mulched, well-drained and in full sun to part shade. Tulips cannot tolerate soggy conditions.

  • Full Sun & Part Shade
  • Moderate Moisture
  • Well-Drained Enriched Site
  • Deadhead After Bloom Fades
  • Cannot Tolerate Soggy Conditions
