Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Top garden designers understand that subtle plant accents can make or break a garden design. Give your eyes a chance to rest between focal points with these sophisticated texture plants.
Beautiful First Editions® Matcha Ball® Ash Leaf Spirea (Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Levgreen' PP 31,202) features lovely leaves and a fern-like appearance. The young leaves and long petioles emerge a reddish peachy-orange and mature to grassy green.
Serrated edges, delicate pointed profile and corrugated texture make a visible impression. The sophisticated colorway certainly plays well with others.
You'll love the way Matcha Ball grows into a low-lying orb that stands out in full sun or partial shade. It's a little surprising how versatile this profoundly beautiful plant is in the landscape.
Deer don't like the taste, road salt won't harm it and you won't need to baby this modern cultivar. Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea looks great and performs beautifully in the ground, but can also be grown in containers.
White flowers in spring are admittedly subtle, but their nectar does support honey bees. All season-long, you'll relish a charming round ball of mid-green texture.
Once temperatures start dipping in autumn, the beautiful foliage burnishes to a golden-yellow. You can count on these structural plants to help carry your garden vision all season long.
Plant a unique, perfectly rounded plant that maintains that tight form you love. Order Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea from the small shrub experts at Nature Hills today!
How to Use First Editions Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea in the Landscape
In a small space garden, use a few as specimen plants to fill in and soften between showier accent plants and shrubs. Or, keep them in a set of matched containers for an elegant touch.
Plant them in your foundation for a high-end look you'll never grow tired of. If you've ever had the superfood "Matcha" green tea, you'll know exactly what tone this beautiful low shrub takes on at the height of summer.
This is an excellent choice to repeat across the front of your mixed border as a perfect partner for flowering perennials and shrubs. Matcha Ball makes purple "pop", pink more tender, white more crisp, orange outrageous, yellow noteworthy and red blooms more dramatic.
Use a long, low hedge to edge under taller shrubs. They'll ground First Editions® Straight Talk® Privet and hold their own near First Editions® Autumn Inferno® Cotoneaster.
Layer them in with Hosta and Astilbe for a wonderfully easy-care shady spot. Don't forget the matched hammock stands!
Whether you want to create an urbane dwelling that requires little care...or need a pretty filler to tie your plantings together, poised Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea is up for the challenge.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Either full sun or partial shade is fine, but please ensure Matcha Ball receives at least four hours of sunlight a day. Give them well-drained soil, or elevate the planting in a raised bed.
Protect your investment with a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. Mulch is a great idea to cut down on surface evaporation, but keep it away from touching the stems.
Prune in early spring if you need to. Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea doesn't sucker, and you may never need to shape them at all!
This hardy plant never fails to delight. Matcha Ball Ash Leaf Spirea is an exceptional choice to maximize the impact.
