Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Buy the true dwarf Little Cado Dwarf Avocado Tree (Persea americana 'Little Cado') is a smaller-sized, self-fertile Avocado! Featuring fantastic evergreen foliage that is aromatic and glossy, Little Cado lends year-round beauty to your landscape!

You'll enjoy the creamy, nutty green flesh for all your healthy eating and cooking needs! The oval green fruits have waxy bumps and feature a mild flavor, ripening between May and September for fresh summer fruit! Self-fertile, you can increase pollination by planting multiple trees.

The unusual greenish blooms add interest and attract pollinators in the late winter and early spring. These evergreen fruit trees do great in USDA hardiness zones 9-11 and can not tolerate hard frost, so keep them in a container and bring them indoors during cold weather to protect them from the chills. Outdoors, the small stature makes it easy to cover your tree should there be the threat of frost.

Planting and Application:

Avocado trees are fantastic garden focal points or orchard additions! These are dual-purpose as a low privacy hedge or for screen porches and patios with an evergreen accent and shade. Plant a few anywhere sunny to enjoy your own homegrown healthy Avocados! You'll enjoy having your own 'minicado' by your back door or anchoring your front yard landscaping!

Pot up in a container or planter so even Container gardeners, patio and balcony gardeners and small-space gardens can grow their own fruit! Northern gardeners can bring it indoors for winter in front of a full sun window, and use as a patio tree all summer!

  • True Dwarf Avocado Tree
  • Self-Fertile - Plant More for Larger Harvests
  • Evergreen Tropical Aromatic Green Leaves
  • Summer Through Fall Harvest
  • Containers, Privacy & Screening, Landscaping Focal Points

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Avocado trees need full sun and very well-drained soil that's on the drier side. Provide moderate moisture while establishing. Mulch the site well to keep moisture levels even and insulate the roots. High-density planting of both trees together boosts yields and gives you an extended, varied harvest of these super healthy 'alligator pears' for your enjoyment.

  • Full Sun
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture
  • Loves Mulched Beds
  • Considered Self-Fertile Type A & B Tree
