Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Don't have a green thumb? Do you need a plant that is super easy to care for, forgives you if you forget it, yet still looks graceful and beautiful and makes you look like a pro? Spicata Liriope (Liriope spicata) is the plant for you!

This lovely plant grows in gentle grass-like clumps that happily fill in bare and hard to plant areas. The leaves are strappy and a beautiful deep green. In the summer, tall spikes of purple flowers crown the tufts and attract bees and butterflies, animating your garden. Butterflies and bees will be grateful for these blossoms!

Liriope are incredibly tolerant and adaptable perennial plants. Growing only 12-15 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide, these slowly creep and spread to fill areas in sun or part shade throughout USDA hardiness zones 4 through 9.

Planting and Application:

These are classic edger plants, providing a soft border to your perennial beds. Use them in masses as a grand groundcover under big trees or lined up in rows to guide your way along a pathway. Put them around your rose beds. Edge your driveway or anchor your mailbox with a ring of grassy, easy-care perennial plants. Plant them where they will hide the feet of straggly shrubs as facer plants.

We suggest letting them spill out of your favorite containers on either side of your entryway to make an unforgettable first impression, even if you occasionally forget it's there. Planting in a container also means you can move it where ever you need a little perennial pick me up. Or plant a few in or around the back patio when entertaining guests as an accent. Their tolerance of moist sites makes Liriope ideal Rain Garden plants!

  • Graceful Tufts of Grass-Like Foliage
  • Pretty Purple Flower Spikes in the Summer
  • Native Plant Attracts Pollinators

#ProPlantTips for Care:
