Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Brilliant orange blooms spattered in black freckles add intrigue to your garden! The Splendens Lily (Lilium 'Tigridium Splendens') may look like a typical Tiger Lily at first glance, but you'll appreciate the shorter, more compact growth and larger flowers that this variety features!

Boasting brilliant orange blossoms and backward curving petals, these enormous nodding flowers wave atop slender stems and feature multiple flowers per stem! The long spray of stamen are perfect for Pollinators to hold on to while they collect pollen. With a mild fragrance and multiple stems on mature bulb clumps, you'll enjoy bouquets of striking blooms!

Tiger Lilies' long slender stems are completely covered in short, bright green lance-shaped foliage. These award-winning blooms are slender, tall and sturdy to hold aloft the sprays of large flowers. You'll be delighted by the shiny black bulbils that form along the stems.

Planting and Application:

Reaching upwards of 3 - 4 feet tall and forming compact clumps, Tiger Lily colonizes small areas without becoming aggressive and overtaking, nor jumping their borders and growing where they aren't wanted. Their slim profile is perfect for tucking clusters into existing Perennial and Cottage gardens, grouped in mixed planters and containers, or in long winding rows as edging or meandering through Cutting Gardens and Pollinator borders.

Blooming all summer until frost, Splendens are long-lasting in the vase! These cheerful blooms brighten any room and any mood. Butterflies and beneficial pollinators stop by for a visit, and if you are lucky, they also attract hummingbirds!

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Consistently Moist, Enriched & Organic Soil
  • Deadhead After Blooms Fade & Prune After Foliage Dies
  • Deer Resistant
