Pink Lily Of The Valley (Convallaria majalis var. rosea) fills its clumps of broad lance-shaped greenery with dainty arching stems of dangling pinkish bells! Heavenly fragrant, the darling blooms slowly fill your garden and your bouquets in elegance and perfume!

In spring, each arching stem hangs heavy with the profuse blooms it carries. The fragrant flowers are followed by glossy orangy-red berries in the late summer to fall. Growing fast easy spring, but slowly spreading, the oval, pointed green leaves are the perfect backdrops for the arching 6-8 inch tall flowering stems full of long dangling blossoms. Butterflies will stop by for a visit as enchanted by the scent as you are!

Once it becomes established, Lily of the Valley plants are long-lived and spread slowly through its rhizomes called 'pips'. Otherwise, these perennial rhizomes fill in any tight area that needs to be filled, or bare spots in the dappled shade of larger trees and shrubs, are all perfect for these fragrant blooms! Plant among your shady bulb gardens, and around other perennials to act as living mulch and groundcover!

Filling areas with bold green leaves and heavenly-scented little blossoms, no shade garden should be without some! Pair with white Lily of the Valley and let this charming duo ramble around politely beneath larger shrubs and around the roots of trees like a skirt. This perennial rhizome thrives in moist, humus-rich, fertile soil, in partial sun or full shade. The more sun there is, however, the more important it is for the soil to remain moist. Drought tolerant in shaded areas, it's best to apply a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to help with soil moisture and insulation. Plant in an area with good air circulation to prevent fungal spots on the petals.
