Love the Bloomerang® Lilac? It's time to upgrade with an expertly grafted tree-form Lilac! The Bloomerang® Purple Lilacs (Syringa BLOOMERANG 'Penda' (Tree Form)) are already one of the most well-known of the reblooming Lilacs, and these are elevated on a straight sturdy single stem that brings them closer to your eyes and nose! Blooms appears mid-May in a spectacular show of large, lavender-pink, fragrant clusters.

While most Lilacs bloom for a few weeks in the spring, the Bloomerang® will bloom for months! These sweet-scented flowers cover the branches in the spring letting you know that spring has well and truly sprung! After its spring flush, it takes a short rest in June or July then begin to bloom again in smaller flushes later in the growing season and continues until frost.

Backed by a round flush of heart-shaped lush green leaves, these are supported atop a strong straight single trunk. The Lilac is a classic flowering shrub that has been a favorite for generations and tree-form versions only elevate these to the next level. Expertly trained and grafted, they are sure to take your landscape to new heights!

Deer tend to pass it by and these cold-hardy Lilacs are tolerant from USDA zones 3 through 7. As if the bright, repeating display wasn't enough, Lilacs act as an irresistible draw to butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds with their rich fragrance.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Hardy in USDA zones 3-7, grow your Lilac trees in an area with good air circulation. Bloomerang® prefers a full sun location and must have well-drained soil that is moderately moist. Be sure to keep high-nitrogen lawn fertilizer away from the roots. Lilac also tolerates partial sun or part shade in warmer climates, especially during the hot afternoon summer heat. (But you may see smaller or fewer blooms in less sun). Mulch to keep the roots cool and hold in moisture.

Don't miss a single bloom! Follow these easy Pruning steps for the best flowering:

Right after the first flush of spring flowers are done, it's time to prune. This will reduce the amount of reblooms later on, so keep trimming to a minimum. Snip the past flowers, then remove inward-heading branches and the thickest stems out at ground level. The goal is to let the interior of the shrub have plenty of sunlight and air circulation.

Once your Lilac plants have been growing for about 10 years, you'll want to start a regular schedule of renewal pruning, and removal of suckers (when needed). After the blooms are fading, cut a few of the oldest, thickest branches right down to the ground each year. The younger, thinner branches remain and keep your plant vigorous and healthy.

Renewal pruning is great for your Lilac shrub. Removing the oldest growth lets the new branches take their turn. The youngest branches will produce the best bloom for you the following spring. Prune to keep an open interior to reduce the chances of powdery mildew.
