Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 10 -11 or as an indoor plant
The royal Kimberley Queen Australian Sword Fern (Nephrolepis obliterata 'Kimberley Queen') is a type of Australian Sword Fern and a serious upgrade from Proven Winners® that will delight your landscape today! Growing gorgeous long green fronds with brown-tan stems, each lined with evenly spaced, alternating leaflets along the stipe (another name for the stem) each tapering to a delightful curled-under point. Forming crowns of arching, and soft fountains of lush greenery, these mounded broadleaf evergreens add loads of finery to the shade garden!
Neat and tidy clumps of up and out arching swords, reach a mature height of almost two feet and can spread into lovely 2-3 foot plants that stay put. No worry about them spreading and taking over the garden, these keep to their neat and tidy clumps and require very little maintenance. Pest and disease resistant, even deer rarely bother these plants!
Florists adore these fronds for floral design and Ikebana, adding greenery and texture to designs both classic and minimalist alike. Hardy outdoors year-round in USDA zones 10 and 11, these are classic shade garden plants and container additions, especially taking the spotlight as a specimen in a hanging basket! Perfect patio plants, move these indoors at any threat of frost.
Planting and Application:
Outdoors, the obvious location choice for these lush green shrubs is as borders and edging in the shade garden! Adding lacy finery along the fronts of garden beds to ease the transition between lawn and flower beds. Warm growing zones can enjoy the fine texture skirting foundation plantings, around structures, statues and sculptures - especially giving flagpoles and tall urns a lovely base of fringe! Add randomized plantings throughout the shade garden to brighten up the gloom or around a water feature, brook or shady pond for a peaceful destination setting!
Indoors these are great plants and hanging plants for high humidity areas in the bathroom or on an enclosed sunroom and bright porch. Add a romantic touch to your covered seating areas and high style to a tall, architectural urn in a protected front entry. Planters on balconies and around your poolside gain lacy attire year-round or throughout the summer - happily transitioning indoors for the winter if you are in a cooler hardiness zone.
- Long Arching Sword-Shaped Fronds
- Lush Green & Gorgeous Texture
- Large Fountain-Shaped Mounds
- Great Indoor Houseplants & Fringy Outdoor Summer Containers
- Thrives in Shadey Moist Hot Growing Zones
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Loving humidity, Sword Ferns also appreciate consistent moisture and rich organic soil, so provide a humusy mix that doesn't dry out easily and mulch around their root zone when planted in the garden bed or a large planter. A bit fussy with very hard water. Mist often to prevent tip browning. Provide a location outdoors in full to partial shade, favoring afternoon shade. Indoors, they prefer bright indirect light. Prune out old, yellowing fronds as new fronds take their place to keep the clumps clean and tidy.
- Part Shade to Full Shade Outdoors - Bright Indirect Indoors
- High Humidity & Moist Soil
- Rich Organic Well-Drained Conditions
- Easy Care & Quick Growing
- Rarely Damaged By Deer
