#ProPlantTips for Care:

Just Joey thrives in the full sun! Tolerating just a touch of afternoon shade in the hottest of its climate range. Plant in a consistently moist environment with highly enriched, well-draining soil. Provide a thick layer of mulch over the root system to chase away the chill and keep the roots cool in the summer heat, plus regulate soil moisture! Roses do best with regular applications of quality, slow-release Rose fertilizer, and a site enriched with composted manure. Growing Hybrid Tea Roses in zones colder than zone 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall for best overwintering.

Growing 3-4 feet in height and width, these are fast-growing flowering ornamentals! Growing Hybrid Tea Roses in zones colder than zone 7 should be mounded with 8-12 inches of mulch in late fall for best overwintering.

Roses do well with early spring pruning to cut back all the canes to 6-8 inches above the crown, giving you a full shrub of lush new growth each year. Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth. I was disappointed in the

I was disappointed in the way that the plants arrived. Tops were bent over and discolored (which I understand is standard when in a dark place); however, putting them in water and heeling into the ground did not revive them. So out of three roses, I have one that is strugging to survive. Oh well.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly appreciate your honest feedback and understand how disappointing it can be when your new plants don't arrive or thrive as expected.

It sounds like you’re familiar with the challenges that can come from shipping and handling, especially with delicate roses. While some discoloration and bent tops can happen during transit, we always want to ensure your plants arrive in a condition that can quickly recover once in your care. Since two of your roses have not revived, it might help to examine their root systems to check for any damage or dryness, and we recommend trimming away any blackened or mushy parts before planting. Also, incorporating a balanced fertilizer to encourage new growth can sometimes give struggling specimens a boost.

We would love to assist you further and ensure your garden flourishes. If you’d consider reaching out to our plant specialists via support@naturehills.com with your order details and photos, we can offer personalized advice or discuss possible next steps.

Thank you again for choosing NatureHills.com and for giving us the opportunity to help your roses thrive.

Dear Rachel,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re truly sorry to hear that your roses arrived in less than perfect condition and that two of them have struggled to bounce back. While some stress during shipping can affect the plants, it’s definitely important to us that your garden thrives.

If you haven’t already, giving your rose bushes a good soak in water for a few hours before planting can sometimes help them recover more easily, though it sounds like you tried this. Additionally, ensuring they have nutrient-rich, well-draining soil and consistent watering—without waterlogging—can support their revival. Our Care Guides for roses, found on our website, offer some helpful step-by-step tips and troubleshooting. Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly if you’d like personalized advice or perhaps a replacement offer; we want to help as best we can!

Thank you again for letting us know, Rachel. We appreciate having you as part of the Nature Hills family and hope your one surviving rose does flourish beautifully in your garden.

Rooting for your garden’s success,
