Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

- Age Indicators: Container size primarily indicates plant age and maturity rather than liquid volume equivalents
Growing Conditions
- Plant size can vary based on variety and growing conditions
- Container size helps indicate plant maturity and establishment level
- Larger containers generally mean more established root systems and faster landscape establishment

A cold-hardy Gardenia that reblooms is cause for celebration! Introducing the Jubilation™ Gardenia bush PP#21983 (Gardenia jasminoides 'Leeone') which has all that and more!
Your Jubilation™ Gardenia is a spectacular plant with all the perks you've come to expect from a Gardenia but with some added features! Featuring a heavy bloom in spring of pristine white, waxy-petaled blooms that are luxuriantly scented. But unlike other varieties, Jubilation™ Gardenia reblooms sporadically throughout the summer and into fall!
The delicate beauty of the flowers is only enhanced by the incredible scent, a heavy jasmine-like fragrance that is so intense it carries on the slightest breeze and really must be experienced to be believed! Snip a few stems for vase bouquets, or float a few blossoms in a bubble bowl or dish to perfume an entire room!
A fantastic Southern Living® plant selection, Jubilation™ has a full, compact nature that is upright and rounded, filling out in broadleaf evergreen, glossy foliage. As if these attributes weren't enough, Jubilation™ is also cold hardy down to USDA growing zones 7, so if you thought your climate excluded you from having a Gardenia growing outdoors all year long, then this variety is for you!
Planting and Application:
A single Jubilation™ would look spectacular just about anywhere in your yard! And it smells incredible too! Try placing one near a screen door or window to ensure you'll enjoy its exquisite fragrance all summer long! Gardenias are must-haves for the Moon garden and meditation nooks!
Growing 3 - 4 feet tall and a bit slimmer in width, Jubilation™ is the perfect size to use in larger settings and groupings! The year-round glossy foliage is a fantastic backdrop to your landscaping beds, the evergreen foliage adds privacy and property definition throughout the entire year, and who wouldn't want a scented foundation hedge?
Not enough room for multiple of these gorgeous shrubs? Not to worry because Jubilation™ works well in large planters, urns, and container gardens too! That means you can keep the intoxicating scent close to your poolside seating areas, back porch and patio areas, and balcony gardens alike! All you need is a nice sunny spot!
- Snowy White Flowers With Waxy Petals
- Spring Flowers Rebloom Again In Summer & Again In Fall!
- Glossy Dark Green Broadleaf Evergreen Foliage
- Compact, Upright Rounded Shrub
- Ultra-Fragrant Blossoms - Great For Bouquets & Pollinators
- Scented Specimen, Backdrop, Hedge For Privacy & Container Plant
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Gardenia does best in full sun where they are protected from the cold, drying winter winds in the winter. Preferring good air circulation and the morning sun and a touch of shade in the hottest southern sun, Gardenias shrugs off the high humidity of the South.
Plant in well-drained, organically enriched soil that won't become soggy, but please provide regular moderate moisture access during their first year in the ground. Once established, supplemental moisture during prolonged drought is all these shrubs need! All plants appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the roots.
Jubilation™ Gardenia is a relatively easy plant to care for, with a moderate to fast growth rate, and is considered more cold-hardy than other Gardenias. It rarely needs much pruning, but is amenable to it after the first spring flush of flowers begins to fade, if you so desire. Once the return blooms fade, deadhead your shrub to keep a tidier presentation.
- Full Sun & Appreciates Morning Sun To Dry Leaves Of Dew
- Moist Enriched Well-Drained Soil
- Prune After First Flush Of Flowers
- Shrugs Off Heat & High Humidity
- Deadhead Rebloom To Keep Shrubs Tidy
No other plant truly compares to a Gardenia, and Jubilation™ is an outstanding variety among them. Incomparable flowers and fragrance, along with a re-blooming nature and cold hardiness, all combine to make Jubilation™ Gardenia an outstanding choice for your yard this summer!
