The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-11
Johanna Agapanthus (Agapanthus x 'Johanna'), also known as the Lily of the Nile and African Lilies, are stunning blooms that turn heads! These are tropical tubular blooms held high in a circular array above the clump-forming, broad, dark green, strap-shaped leaves. Hummingbirds and butterflies adore these umbels of funnel-shaped, light and dark blue flowers that burst onto the garden scene mid to late summer!
High-impact without taking up garden space, these vibrant blooms grow 2-3 feet in height when in bloom and 18-24 inches wide. The blooms look as great in an upscale floral arrangement as they do in your garden beds and borders! Bring their elegance indoors but leave a few outdoors for your pollinators. The foliage looks incredible even after the flowers fade and work hard to make food for the bulbs so they return bigger and better every year!
Agapanthus are herbaceous perennial bulbs that work as incredible annual accents in cooler climates (which can be lifted and stored over winter) or as perennial blooms that can sometimes remain evergreen in frost-free climates. Clumping perennials throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 11, these require very little in the way of maintenance!
Planting and Application:
They are so easy-care and hardy that they are ubiquitous in upscale plantings, along paths and walkways. They are so elegant and striking you can find them in landscapes from urban apartment complexes to posh Rodeo Drive and Worth Avenue retailers! Space-saving enough for balcony gardens, high-style entertaining areas, and curb appeal-boosting porch planters!
The fringed foliage and amazing blossoms look great in long rows and in groupings as facer plantings and edging throughout the growing season! Pot up on large planters and high-style pots to show off these gorgeous blooms in any location large or small! The grassy clumps of foliage make an unforgettable border when you plant them fringe for your Rose gardens, Perennial borders, and urban courtyards.
- Big Umbles of Light & Dark Blue Blooms
- Trumpet-Shaped Flowers For Pollinators & Hummingbirds
- Clumping Upright Strappy Green Leaves
- Great in Landscapes & Container Plantings
- Specimens, Accents, Edging & Border Garden Bulbs
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Agapanthus is a summer-flowering bulb that flowers best full sun and appreciates afternoon shade in the warmer growing zones. Provide consistent moisture in a deep, enriched and well-drained environment for best results. These bulbs will rot in excessive water so ensure containers and planters have good drainage. Prune back foliage once it yellows and dig bulbs up in colder growing zones and bring them indoors for the winter as you would Elephant Ear or Calla Lily.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Any Well-Drained Soil Type
- Moist Enriched Environments
- Clean Mounds After Foliage Yellows & Lift Bulbs in Cold Zones
- Hardy & Carefree Once Established
