Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

A top-rated, juicy Jewel Strawberry Bush (Fragaria ananassa 'Jewel') was developed by scientists at Cornell University to be a great all-around Strawberry! Once you feast your eyes on its lovely berries and sink your teeth into its firm flesh, you'll agree that they succeeded!
The large, glossy, and brilliant red fruit is a wide, attractive wedge shape. These deliciously sweet and juicy berries have excellent, firm flesh and are great eaten fresh, added to a variety of salads, frozen for later, or turned into jam. Not bruising or scraping easily, Jewel is prized for farmers' markets and by homesteaders, allowing them to transport the fruit without it becoming a mushy mess!
Do you often crave a smoothie or a shake in the hot summer? You'll have plenty of berries all summer to quench your thirst because this prolific producer doesn't stop until fall. Jewel Strawberry is considered a June-bearing variety, but this dandy continues to flower from June until fall!
Planting and Application:
Plant plenty of this hardy variety so that you will have enough fruit! The blooms are delightfully pretty with fluffy yellow centers. These sweet flowers attract pollinators from near and far! Fall brings a red tinge to the foliage for one last burst of berry color!
These lovely Strawberry plants look adorable draped over container edges and make fine groundcover for your landscaping, or even replacing entire sections of lawn as a turf alternative. Mass plantings ensure you'll have enough runners for you to replace those that are aging or populate a new area in your yard.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
The berries of your Jewel Strawberry plants are beautiful and the plants are self-fertile! Find a spot for your Jewel Strawberry that gets full sun. They love well-drained loam, and if your soil is not as rich as you would like, you can also add compost, manure, lawn clippings, and leaves in the fall before you plant. Provide regular moderate moisture throughout the growing season to ensure a consistent supply of fruit.
- Full Sun For The Most Fruit
- Well-Drained Enriched Soil
- Regular Moisture Needs
- Disease-Resistant & Cold Hardy
