The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Searching for a dainty accent tree to enliven a special corner of your yard? Or, perhaps you want to bring color and texture to a ho-hum foundation planting with lackluster, mature evergreen shrubs.
Gain all this and more along with the incredible, easy-care Seiryu Japanese Maple Tree (Acer palmatum 'Seiryu'). This is the only upright dissected-leaf Japanese Maple!
It will stand tall and proud for you, losing none of the innate charm of Japanese Maples. All the other Laceleaf varieties are 'weepers'.
The smaller leaves are fine-textured and look quite sweet. They'll showcase a lovely color-changing show over the course of the growing season.
In early spring, they'll emerge pale green with a red margin—a delightful way to welcome spring again after a long winter! The green summer color looks fresh and cool as it decorates your seating area in a sophisticated style.
As fall comes on, you'll be treated to a spectacular display of bold yellow-orange color. This electric display eventually deepens to a saturated burgundy before the leaves drop.
Vigorous Seiryu Japanese Maple develops into an airy, spreading small tree. It is a rather vase-shaped tree when young; growing wider and much rounder with age.
There is perhaps nothing better to highlight a sheltered spot in your space. These are understory trees that thrive in afternoon shade.
But this is no "hothouse flower". Rather, Seiryu earns its reputation as one of the easiest Japanese Maples to grow and maintain.
Please, place your order for these fetching small trees ASAP. We'll run out of our limited inventory quickly.
How to Use Seiryu Japanese Maple in the Landscape
This upright Cutleaf Japanese Maple is a useful small tree for garden accents, Bonsai, or in containers. Install a Zen Garden, or place it in your outdoor Yoga Studio as a magnificent focal point.
Use one as a living piece of art. Consider it a special specimen plant for a courtyard or mixed border.
Point an outdoor light up into the canopy of your Seiryu Japanese Maple at night. Enjoy the nighttime ambiance, and maximize your investment at the same time.
Boost the curb appeal of your property by adding them to your foundation planting. Try an offset specimen, or flank either side of your front door with a pair of them.
They grow well near mature evergreens, as they prefer slightly acidic soil. Plant them in a mound of soil on the east side of your larger trees.
If you have the room, try an informal grouping of several Seiryu. Plant them in a loose triangle, varying the spacing from four to ten feet apart.
They look incredible when planted at the edge of a pond. Double the impact with their beautiful reflection.
Even if you are renting, you can enjoy these lovely trees. Grow them in very large containers as a versatile accent on your sheltered balcony or porch.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Plant Seiryu Japanese Maple in the morning sun and afternoon shade. They'll do best in evenly moist, slightly acidic, mulched, well-drained soil.
During planting, add handfuls of compost. We recommend the time-tested Nature Hills Root Booster formula to support your tree over its entire life span.
Apply a medium amount of water if you don't get rainfall. Apply a three-inch pine bark or pine straw as mulch over the top of the roots; then pull it back from the trunk.
If you need to prune it, wait until late winter when the tree is dormant. Correct the shape, remove broken branches, and thin the canopy to encourage air circulation.
Don't miss your chance to own these charming trees. Place your order for Seiryu Japanese Maple today for a delightful accent.
