Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

One the Best Dragon Trees Janet Craig Dracena

  • Indirect Bright to Low Light
  • Strappy, Shiny, Dark Green Leaves
  • Grows to a Magnificent Indoor Decoration
  • Works in Office Settings

Even if you don’t baby this plant, it’s impossible to ignore it. Janet Craig Dracena (Dracaena dermensis 'Janet Craig') can grace your interior with its stylish beauty and grace.

Long, strappy leaves grow towards the sky as new growth, then gradually mature into a pleasing, cascading sweep towards the ground. Lower leaves can fall to expose the patterned canes, which adds another dimension to this plant.

Give “Janet” some room to develop. If she’s happy and her room has a high ceiling, the specimen can grow 12 - 15 feet tall!

This plant has great looks, but doesn’t require much care. It will take all but direct sunlight. If you have a sunny window, angle this plant away from it, or keep it diffused behind a curtain. Too much light can burn the leaves. Watch for brown leaf spots, and reduce the light if you see them develop.

Janet loves east facing windows. If grown in low light conditions, be sure to use supplemental artificial lights to provide additional lumens for growth. There is a reason why Janet Craig Dracena is often chosen for office settings.

Water lightly when the soil surface becomes dry during summer. Don’t let your plant sit in standing water. Sop it up out of saucers, if you use too heavy a hand with the watering can. In winter dormancy, she’ll need less water.

If you see brown leaf tips, cut back on the watering. Try filtered water for the very best results.

Rotate your houseplants each week by a quarter turn to ensure each leaf receives an equal amount of light. Regularly dust those long, pretty leaves with a damp cloth to keep them looking their best. If your home or office air is dry, plan to give the plant a misting with a water bottle a few times a week.

Janet Craig Dracena asks for very little, and gives a lot. We recommend taking the time to be mindful when you do these minor scheduled tasks. Enjoy the process with your living plant.

There is no doubt you’ll fall in love with Janet! She’s a charmer.
