This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-8
Sunny, hot, and dry gardens? These Xeric conditions actually encourage these hardy perennials to bloom more and more! The Red Mountain® Ice Plant (Delosperma dyeri 'Psdold') is an exciting new flowering groundcover that is covered in stunning blooms from early summer until frost!
Fragrant and rosy-orangy-red petals with creamy white centers, these daisy-like flowers bloom in profusion without reaching more than 2-4 inches high! The succulent leaves will remind you of your favorite succulent houseplant, forming low-growing dense mats that ramble over the rockiest, sandiest soils, parched ground, and nooks and crannies!
Pollinator-friendly but highly rabbit and deer-resistant, and so easy to grow, these plants can be evergreen to semi-evergreen in mild winter climates of USDA planting zones 5 to 8. Perfect ground covering plants that are great for Xeriscaping and Fire-wise landscaping installations!
Planting and Application:
The Daisy-like flowers highlight this prostrate groundcover and make it perfect for the Rock Gardens, Alpine rockeries, or front of the border as edging! Plant in low-maintenance Xeric Gardens to save money, replacing a bit of the lawn with a sandy Zen garden or patch of Agave, Yucca, and Delosperma! Any sunny spot where you can enjoy the low-growing stature of this perfect, fast-spreading, dazzling groundcover on slopes or in borders for hot, dry, and sunny locations!
The flowers are laden with pollen and nectar for bees and butterflies, so Pollinators Gardens are fantastic locations for Red Moutain®! Enjoy the nearly continuous display of glowing orange-red flowers while transforming a steep slope or the tops of retaining walls in cheerful blooms!
While Xeric gardening is a hot trend right now, for many in the Southwestern US - it's a must!
Use as you would Hens and Chicks, with other water-wise perennial plants. As a groundcover, Delosperma is very useful in preventing erosion, happily naturalizing over a hard-to-mow sunny slope en masse. That coastal garden with sand dunes and salt spray or hell strip along the road, a sidewalk, or your driveway is perfect for these tough gems! Groundcovers help unify the landscape and cover empty ground that would otherwise be parched in the sun.
If you need a good container plant for hot, dry locations, this easy-to-grow Red Mountain® Delosperma is it! Fantastic filler and spillers in planters and mixed pots in the hottest, sunniest locations around your yard - even if you don't have a yard at all! Porches, patios and balconies shine with these brilliant long-blooming beauties!
- Bright, Fuchsia-Orange-Yellow Prolific Daisy-Like Flowers
- Vital Nectar & Pollen For Bees, Butterflies & Other Beneficial Insects
- Fleshy Succulent Jewel Like Green Foliage
- Forms Very Low-Growing Groundcover Mats
- Fantastic In Harsh, Sunny Conditions & Sand Dunes Along Beaches
- Great En Masse, Containers, Hell Strips, Edging, Erosion Control & Borders
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Ice Plants need a very well-draining location with plenty of sun to flower their best. Water as needed during the first year in the ground to establish a deep, healthy root system. But afterward, Delosperma are very low-water usage plants. But for the best flowering display, provide some summer watering during prolonged drought and excessive heat. But back off watering these plants so they can go into fall a bit drier, that way they can harden off before winter.
All plants appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch to hold moisture underground and insulate the roots. Mulch also helps keep soil from splashing on and covering the low-growing foliage, for a neater, cleaner look. It is recommended you cover these succulent perennials with row covers or frost blankets if you live in an area that has heavy snowfall in the winter.
In spring, prune out any branching that has died back and fertilize in the spring and early summer to keep the flowers popping and help keep the leaves plump!
- Full Sun Evergreen/Semi-Evergreen/Perennial Succulent
- Any Fast-Draining Soil - Sandy/Gravely Soil Is Best
- Salt/Coastal-Tolerant, Drought Resistant & Low Moisture Plants
- Prune In Early Spring & Fertilize Spring/Summer
- Deer & Rabbit Resistant - Few Pests & Diseases
