To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

The Wide Brim Hosta (Hosta 'Wide Brim') has a deep blue-green center with very wide, irregular margins of cream with gold tints at maturity, making it very striking! Forming wide fountains of cascading leaves, these bi-color ornamental perennials are sure to light up your shade!
The lavender flowers bloom from July to August and are nectar-rich resources for butterflies, bees, and Hummingbirds! However, Hostas are not known only for their flowers. Wide Brim Hosta provides bright color in shade with its wonderful foliage.
Due to its versatility and ease of care, along with its striking mounded form, Wide Brim is a favorite of landscape designers! This plant has a height of 20 inches tall when in bloom and a spread of 32-36 inches wide in a fountain of ornamental foliage! Hardy in USDA growing zones 3 through 8 are very cold hardy perennials. Even the most novice or busy gardeners will have success growing these herbaceous perennials!

Plant this low-maintenance herbaceous perennial in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration, but too much sun will burn the leaves so Wide Brim appreciates more full shade than other perennials. Highly resistant to heat and humidity long as they're given adequate shade and moisture, especially throughout the hottest part of the growing season. Tolerant of dry shade once established, these become incredibly resilient perennials! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained soils that are highly organic. Preferring a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. A generous 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch chips helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill. Prune back in late fall and divide your Hosta every 3 - 5 years.

Hosta does best in full sun in cooler climates but does appreciate afternoon protection from the worst of the summer sun, especially in the hottest of their growing zone range. In the hottest climates, Hosta like partial shade or dappled shade, and some varieties will do great in full shade.
