The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

The largest of the Dwarf Honeysuckle shrubs available, the Clavey's Dwarf Honeysuckle (Lonicera x xylosteoides 'Claveyi') is a wonderfully dense and compact, finely branched shrub with delightful, clean blue-green foliage! Like their cousins, these shrubs are incredibly adaptable, low-maintenance, and easy-going plants!
Growing to a wonderful 6-8 feet in height and look fantastic when covered in tiny yellowish-white flowers in May! Pollinators, Hummingbirds, and bees flock to your shrub to sip the nectar from the slightly fragrant blooms! You'll see the similarity to their Vining cousins when these are in full bloom! Later in the year, if you have multiple shrubs those blooms are followed by backyard bird-friendly red berries!
With gorgeous foliage and extreme cold hardiness throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 7, Clavey's Lonicera Honeysuckle is highly adaptable and easy to grow and care for! Deer and urban conditions are no problem for these hardy shrubs! Not the invasive Honeysuckle, Clavey's politely spreads in dense clumps without ever overtaking their boundaries.
Planting and Application:
Clavey's forms compact 'living privacy walls' and can be sheared to form a dense hedge for even more screening around your property without the need for loads of maintenance and fussing over! Use as backdrops of green behind garden beds and borders, or as naturalized property definition in any tricky, sunny area of your property!
Honeysuckles thrive in urban areas and tough locations, but their real claim to fame is how well they do on hillsides and hard-to-mow slopes. Great for erosion control and slowing stormwater that washes down hills. Just provide a well-drained location that won't become soggy.
- Bright Yellowish-White Blooms
- Disease & Pest-Free Blue-Green Foliage
- Incredibly Low-Maintenance & Carefree
- Tall Dense, Fast-Growth
- Hummingbird & Pollinator Friendly & Berries for Birds
- Hedges, Privacy, Backdrops, Erosion Control & Naturalized Areas
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Lonicera in full sun for the best vigor and coloration. It is a useful and easy-to-grow plant and likes average, well-drained soil, tolerates urban conditions well, and is not fussy about soil types! Once established, the plant is drought tolerant. Honeysuckles are quite salt tolerant and are easy to grow, vigorous, heat-tolerant, and nearly indestructible! Prune in late winter or very early spring to shape and keep the shrub tidy.
- Full Sun
- Low Moisture Needs Once Established
- Highly Adaptable to Soil
- Great in Urban Environments
- Prune Late Winter or Very Early Spring If Needed
