Milkweed plants love a full sun location, but they can tolerate some afternoon shade. This is perfect for any yard location and is adaptable to all soil types. They like well-drained soil but can tolerate moist soils and wet soils. They need good moisture to survive! They aren't a fan of drying out in the summer heat. They are known for growing in average-moist soil, this is definitely an easy plant! When you first plant it, this is the most crucial time to water it consistently so it can establish itself in its new location.

After the first growing season, they just need deep, but not regular watering. Water when it needs it! They aren't in need of mulch unless planted in a very hot area.
