This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-10
Redwood trees are some of the most prestigious among their botanical peers! Among Redwoods, the Gold Rush Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Gold Rush') is often considered the most highly sought-after! With a quick-growing nature and glowing gold foliage, it's easy to understand why!
The Gold Rush Dawn Redwood towers above other trees, often putting on up to twenty-four inches in one year. It offers lucky homeowners an established landscaping appearance without having to wait decades! And, of course, it is quite the looker with a pyramidal shape that becomes wider and fuller over time.
When showing off its new growth, the Gold Rush Dawn Redwood is the golden child of the Redwood world. With brilliant yellow to yellow-green needles, it looks like it glows in the sunshine and its needles are as soft as a baby's curls!
As summer turns into fall, prepare yourself, your Gold Rush shows its deciduous conifer nature and will teach you new lessons in love as it turns from glowing yellow to a deep auburn before the needles drop for the winter. Then for the winter months, you will enjoy the shaggy, deeply fissured reddish bark!
Landscape Application:
The Gold Rush Dawn Redwood makes a statement as a specimen tree that will provide your yard with long-lasting charm. Situate yours where it can spread its best and show off its bright color the best! A single lawn specimen becomes a glowing beacon from all around!
You can also use several to turn your boggy backyard into a tree sanctuary with unbeatable color. Plant throughout a rain garden and pond or large water feature where these glorious trees can reflect in the water. Birds and wildlife flock to these keystone native species, providing shelter and food like a 5-star hotel!
You can even keep this giant petite using bonsai techniques. The ferny foliage is touchably soft and is a fantastic tree to plant in high-traffic areas and around seating areas where you might brush against them while walking nearby.
- A Fast-Growing Deciduous Redwood Tree
- Brilliant Yellow-Green Foliage
- Dramatic Red/Orange Fall Color
- Upright Pyramidal Form
- A Spectacular Specimen Tree, Groupings & Windbreaks
#ProPlantTips for Care:
A deciduous conifer, the Gold Rush Redwood enjoys full sun, and get situated in rich soils for maximum performance and growth. It will thrive in wet soils, as well! It does like to keep its feet wet, so quench its thirst with some extra water during the hottest times of the year. It also isn't bothered by many diseases, so you don't have to constantly check for ailments or keep your local arborist's number on speed dial. Provide mulched beds and prune in late winter to correct growth. Check with your County Extension Office because this tree grows best in cool areas with consistent temperatures and moist to wet soils along the coast of the Pacific.
