The unique and sophisticated color combination makes this Iris a true supermodel of the Iris world! The Glamazon Tall Bearded Iris (Iris germanica 'Glamazon') is a painted mixture of gorgeous colors! If you're looking for an Iris that elicits "oohs" and "ahhs" and inspires photo after photo, the Glamazon is just the gal for you. The Glamazon is worth its weight in ruffles, and it will happily dance and sway high above other spring blooms!
What makes the Glamazon unforgettable? Maybe it's the butterscotch standards with voluminous ruffles that lighten to honey yellow or it's the dusty-peach falls with splashes of violet-rose that are offset by vibrant orange beards at their centers that make this Iris so striking! Plus those fuzzy beards are like luxury landing pads for your Hummingbirds and butterflies!
Likely, though, the Glamazon's unparalleled reign is due to how the whole look comes together to create a mid-spring show that rivals the most stunning sunsets! Hardy perennials in USDA planting zones 3 to 9, Tall Bearded Iris are very deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant plants!
Planting and Application:
This ornate Iris has a habit of stealing the show, so why not let it? Let the Glamazon shine bright as a mass planting in your Cottage garden. It will also impress garden visitors with an unusual border or as dramatic cut flowers indoors!
Create a riot when you use this showy diva along your garden path, or around your mailbox or a birdbath. Glam up your Pollinator border, and the Rock garden, and add a touch of extravagance to the Cottage garden and mixed perennial border with the Glamazon!
While en masse plantings are sure to turn heads, these showy blossoms look equally fantastic in smaller installations of groupings, or a single specimen adds their dreamy hue to your garden beautifully! This Iris proves you don't have to have a massive yard to grow show-stopping Irises. This fantastic Iris makes a great front-of-the-border planting and edging row in tight areas! These Iris are also wonderful for use in porch planters and mixed container gardens as thrillers and vertical texture.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This perennial will come back year after year and thrives in low to medium-moisture soil that drains well. The Glamazon shines its brightest in full or partial sun, preferring afternoon shade in the hottest of its favored growing zone range. Provide your Iris with a well-drained soil location for best results, and water on a regular basis during their first year in the ground. All plants appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch over the rhizomes and surrounding soil area. Deadhead when the blooms are done but keep the leaves so they can make food for the bulb. As the years pass, you will want to divide and transplant the new rhizomes every 2-5 years depending on how closely they're planted together.
Information About Bareroot Iris
Bareroot Iris are shipped as nice fresh-cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different-sized roots. Container plants are well-grown in the nursery for several years in their container to establish a strong root system. This low-maintenance perennial does best when planted in fall.
When planting Iris, set them up for success by planting with the roots pointed downward and the top third of its rhizome exposed. Note, that it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch, compost, or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
