Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 8-11 (annual in zones 3-7)
Need an intense specimen for your garden or pool-side plantings? Then you need the bold color contrast of the Black Knight Giant Canna (Canna indica 'Black Knight'')! These incredible tropical blooming accents have dramatic near-black leaves tinged in deep dark green! Topping off a backdrop like this are tall flouncy plumes of ruffled cardinal red blooms!
This is an eye-popping color combo that is sure to turn heads! The stems and midribs even have reddish tinges! These flower spikes are huge draws for hummingbirds, bees and butterflies alike, as well as adding major curb appeal to your home! The broad foliage is deer-resistant, as well as fast-growing!
Canna Lilies grow from fibrous rhizomes and quickly display those incredibly flamboyant blooms! They flower all summer, requiring only a bit of deadheading to keep more blooms returning. Hardy outdoors year-round in USDA growing zones 8 through 11 but can be enjoyed as either annual accents in all growing zones. Canna can also be lifted and stored for the winter in a frost-free location in all northern climates.
Planting and Application:
The most impressive way to display Canna like Black Knight is as the vertical specimen or focal point to a large mixed planter, or in groupings in large upscale containers! Massing and bunching these hardy rhizomes together creates an incredibly dramatic effect! Raised planters with other tropical plants enliven sunny front porch pots, and balcony planters while doubling as privacy, or around seating, entertaining and poolside pots or garden beds for screening and vibrant color all growing season!
Growing 48-60 inches height when in bloom, and spreading those broad paddle-shaped leaves 12-18 inches wide, Canna can be the tall focal point groupings in a garden bed, or add privacy in rows or allée around the poolside seating and garden benches! The dark foliage is sure to attract all the attention with barely any work on your part!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
During the growing season, keep these full-sun plants in moderately moist to almost wet enriched soil, that is always well-drained so they do not rot. It is also a good idea to ensure that Canna has a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch over the surface, especially in drier, hotter areas. Provide regular fertilizer and deadhead when blooming is done. Canna rhizomes are not frost-hardy and do need to be dug in the fall before they freeze. Keep them in a cool, frost-free area in a bag in a garage or shed.
