A brilliant little dwarf First Love Veronica (Speedwell) (Veronica longifolia 'Alllove') creates vibrant spires of tiny flowers that cluster tightly together around a tapered stem! The dark pink "candles" arrive, and they wave above a compact mound of glossy green leaves. So bright and colorful, these magenta-pink bottlebrushes last all summer!

Flowering from the bottom up First Love Veronica is a vibrant bloom highlighted by the mounds of dark green foliage. The nectar-rich blooms call pollinators and Hummingbirds in droves! The flower spikes appear all summer and provide you with lovely cut flowers for your bouquets.

Also known as Speedwell, First Love is very miniature, low-maintenance, and comes back every year. Cold-hardy and heat-tolerant throughout USDA growing zones 4-9. Growing to 10-12 inches tall and 8-12 inches wide. Still forming an upright focal point, these space-saving herbaceous perennials are usually passed over by rabbits or deer.

Planting and Application:

The brilliant vertical texture lights up the garden and adds motion and texture to containers and garden beds and borders in the sun! It will be showy all summer while being visited by pollinators! Classic border garden, cottage garden, and cut flower garden plants in an eye-popping magenta hue that isn't too often found in the landscape!

There are many uses for this miniature Veronica in the border garden, sunny garden bed, in containers, or as delightful little edging. Fantastic vertical blooms for nosegays and container gardens so you can keep the radiant white blooms closer. Veronica works well in mixed planters as fillers, in borders as short edging, or to add bright color to any large or small-scale landscape.

Use First Love as a front-of-the-border pop of color that catches the eye! Though the butterflies readily find these pink spires! The bright hue shines in the sun, mix with other pink and red hues, or melds with blues and purple. Mix First Love Veronica with its slightly larger cousins, the pink First Kiss or the bright violet First Match for a special kind of garden flair!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Perennial Speedwell are easy-to-grow and flower best in full sun in well-drained soil locations. Ensure Veronica gets plenty of water during the growing season to stay perfectly happy in the heat. Top off the root system with 3-4 inches of arborist mulch for moisture retention and insulation. Deadhead the blooms as soon as they fade to encourage new blooms to form. In late autumn, once the foliage dies back after frost, you can prune the mound to remove excess debris.
