Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Outstanding burgundy foliage is the highlight of this dramatically colorful shrub! Unlike larger, lankier varieties, the Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Fine Wine® Weigela (Weigela florida 'Bramwell') will hold its upright shape, resisting the urge to part in the middle or droop down; maintaining its dramatic flair throughout summer and into fall!
The deep coloring of the leaves, like the fine burgundy wine of its name! In addition to the decorative, striking foliage is the appearance of a spring flush of hot pink flowers! These trumpet-shaped blossoms dangle in clusters amid the dramatic leaves. Plus, sporadically rebloom throughout the summer months!
Fine Wine®'s blossoms are trumpet-shaped, creating a phenomenal vision in your yard when hummingbirds come to sample their sweet treat! Your Florida Fine Wine® Weigela is a deciduous, ornamental shrub with a compact, multi-stemmed nature and mounded form. Florida Fine Wine® is a fantastic offering from the Wine® series of Weigela and is adaptable to a variety of soil types throughout USDA growing zones 4 - 8!
Planting and Application:
Fine Wine® is small enough (3-4 feet tall and wide!) to be perfect as a low-growing, ornamental for the front of your perennial bed or as a border planting! Since it grows right down to the ground, there's no need for facer plants! In fact, this Weigela is a gorgeous facer plant on its own! It is sure to stand out and add curb appeal and interest to evergreen hedges and foundation plantings!
Wonderfully space-saving, any sized garden or sunny courtyard can enjoy these little gems! It's also quite comely in containers with complementing plantings to highlight the shrub as a feature thriller! Pot up around your porch and patio, dress up a front entry in a fancy urn, or create mobile privacy and shade with large rolling planters around your pool or seating areas!
Break out the camera because you'll have a host of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds dropping by your landscape to sip the repeat offerings of nectar all growing season long! These tubular blooms are favorites to every winged creature near and far!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
You'll get the best flowering from your Weigela shrubs in full sun. Give them at least six hours of direct sunlight a day for peak performance, although they'll tolerate some light shade. Plant it in well-drained soil and top dress with a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch, but please pull the mulch away from touching the stems directly. The only thing this freaky plant will scare is the deer! Hardy and long-lived, Fine Wine® Weigela can be expected to grace your yard for up to 30 years (under ideal conditions).
Blooming on both new and old wood, a light pruning after the first flowers fade will encourage repeat flowering. Keep your shrubs healthy and young with renewal pruning. Simply prune out one or two of the thickest, oldest branches down to the ground after the first wave of blooms has finished. You never need to deadhead, either! This self-sufficient beauty just keeps on giving without any extra care needed.
- Colorful Shrub in Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Well-Drained Enriched Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs
