Versatile and Gorgeous!
If you live in planting Zones 9 or 10, you have probably already heard of Fern Podocarpus. If you are new to the area, then let us introduce you to one of the most versatile and beautiful plants you will have the privilege of growing in your new home.
Fern Podocarpus (Podocarpus gracilior) is a beautiful, soft, almost fluffy evergreen tree that is so much more than a tree. The branches have a graceful weep to them while the narrow gray-green leaves are tightly packed, which gives the tree it's fern-like appearance.
If you let it grow naturally it makes a wonderful shade tree for the edge of your property or in big beds or borders. It is well-adapted to tough urban situations. The roots very seldom lift or cause any problems.
It can also be used for tall privacy hedges around a pool or yard. They will screen out unwanted views quickly and easily. They are a great choice for modern or post-modern architecture, playing well against bright big walls.
Fern Podocarpus is also easily sheared and makes a great container plant or used for topiary. (Come on, you know you've always wanted to try your hand at a gorgeous set of spiral topiary pots flanking your front door!)
If you live somewhere where these plants thrive, you will thank us for introducing you to Fern podocarpus. Order yours from us today!
