#ProPlantTips for Care:
Hybrid Garden Phlox do great in full sun in cooler growing zones 4-8 and partial sun in warmer regions. The thick leathery leaves of this perennial has great powdery mildew resistance but for best results, provide a location with good air circulation for best results and the healthiest foliage. Morning sun is helpful in preventing this as well! Consistent moisture levels are best, but these are tough perennials and tolerate a wide range of conditions. Best in well-drained moist soil. A generous 3-4-inch layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill.
The Fashionably Early Series boasts a long season of color and this tall garden Phlox will provide you with a long bloom time and even repeat blooms in the fall! Try pairing Crystal with Flamingo or pink Princess for a lovely combination of hues!
Deadhead after the first round of blooms for a rebloom again in the autumn, and enjoy an incredibly long season of color! Cut Phlox down in late fall and remove debris before winter.
- Full Sun or Part Shade!
- Low Moisture Needs Once Established
- Any Well-Drained Soil
- Deadhead After Flowers Fade & Prune Late Autumn
- Disease Resistant & Mildew Resistant Thick Leathery Leaves

Phlox Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tall Garden Phlox spread?
Most Garden Phlox do spread some but politely so - not getting into trouble and not jumping their borders. Should the clumps become too large you can easily divide them.
Should your deadhead Tall Garden Phlox?
Deadheading Phlox helps prevent some varieties from self-seeding and encourages a rebloom.
Where is the best place to plant Phlox?
Phlox needs well-drained enriched soil with good air circulation for best results. Mulch their beds and fertilize them each spring.
What happens to Phlox in the winter?
Phlox are herbaceous perennials that will lose their leaves and stems after frost and die back to the ground. In spring, they regrow from their root systems anew!
