Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

How to Use Fantasy™ Pocahontas Anemone in the Landscape

Give this pretty plant room to drape into a spreading groundcover. Add them along the front edge of your planting beds in drifts, or use them in a continuous row for a delicate cushion of color.

Measure 10 to 15 inches apart from the center of one plant to the center of the next. Tighter spacing results in a faster solid fill.

They can be added to oversized outdoor containers with bloomers that start in early spring and run through frost. Tuck these "Fillers" with Daffodil bulbs, Columbine, Shasta Daisy and Coreopsis around an Ornamental Grass "Thriller" for a lovely look that lasts all season.

Fantasy Pocohontas Anemone can also enliven the base of mature evergreens. They'll grow into a sophisticated, yet light-hearted edging for your foundation shrubs, too.

Because the blooms are held on long, sturdy stems...they bend and nod in each breeze. Make the most of that desirable trait with a single species planting in a raised bed or planter box near your patio seating.

Weave them near a winding path in a planned meadow plantings as a wonderful discovery. Use them near your picnic table, where they'll become a special organic decoration.

Add a collection of Anemone, or create an elegant monochromatic look with multiples of this superior variety. Look for opportunities to highlight their charisma in the late season garden.

They'll help you make the most out of your investment in garden art. Plant a "living pedestal" at the feet of a Grecian statue...or tuck them near the base of a large boulder for a bold and beautiful focal point.

Fantasy Pocahontas Anemone likes consistently moist soil, and can be used near the splash zone of fountains. Try them on the side of the berm in Rain Gardens to stabilize soil and filter water runoff from roofs and streets.

#ProPlantTips for Care

As long as they get at least four hours of direct sunlight a day, they will perform well in full sun or partial shade. In the warmest summers, they'll appreciate some afternoon shade.

During planting, add handfuls of compost and Nature Hills Root Booster to the backfill soil. Beneficial mycorrhizal fungus and other ingredients create a life-long symbiotic relationship to help the tiny feeder roots.

Anemones like well-drained soil, but you'll want to supply consistent water to keep them happy and healthy. Mulch over their root system to keep them cool and moist, but pull it back away from the stems.

Prune the dried tops down in early spring for a fresh start to the new season. Apply a good slow-release fertilizer for flowering plants, following label directions.
