To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Deep burgundy broadleaved evergreen foliage all year round! Tired of evergreens? Why not try an 'ever-red' one? The Ever Red® Fringe Flower shrub (Loropetalum chinense 'Chang Nian Hong') This robust and colorful Chinese Fringe Flower has richly colored burgundy leaves that dramatically show off the pompoms of deep rose pink!
From late winter through early spring Ever Red® Loropetalum is covered in delicate spidery fringy blooms that the Hummingbirds and pollinators adore. If it's happy where you plant it this bush will even bloom on and off throughout the rest of the year!
First discovered in Asia, this beautiful Loropetalum variety is compact, mildew and disease-resistant, and even drought-tolerant once it's established. Its colorful leaves are showy year-round, but in the spring it really struts its stuff. Its leaves are small and oval with a leathery feel. It grows upright but the branches will arch a little giving it a very graceful silhouette all season.
Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 7 to 9, these rounded densely-branched shrubs grow 5-6 feet in height and width at maturity. The fragrant blooms may even rebloom later in the growing season, giving you and your pollinators plenty of color throughout the growing season!
Planting and Application:
Ever Red® makes a great specimen plant if you plant it alone as a landscape focal point or feature planting. But its beauty is multiplied if you plant several together, creating bird-friendly plantings since the female plants can develop fruit.
Try a row as a foundation plant that won't block windows. Brighten a mixed-shrub border or add a dramatic backdrop to your landscape garden beds! Define your property line with a beautiful flowering hedge that is sure to enliven a house with white, black, or dark gray siding. Ever Red® stands out among the greenery of other evergreen and deciduous plants!
It also will thrive in a container with other plants that will play off of its color and texture. The year-round foliage and bright blooms add cheer and color every season but you'll mostly love the versatile and issue-free growth! Entertain and relax with their stylish charm as a backdrop, you'll be thrilled with their performance year in and year out!
Keep your hedges neatly sheared, or allow Loropetalum to grow naturally and fully. A hedge along the front of your property will divide your yard from the sidewalk and street without offending the neighbors. Rely on low-maintenance Loropetalum as a sophisticated privacy screen for you and your family!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Ever Red® Chinese Fringe Flower shrubs grow best in moist fertile soil that is well-drained. Thriving in partial shade, but will tolerate full sun and even full shade if it needs to! You'll enjoy the most flowering in full sun.
Apply a fertilizer for acid-loving plants, such as Dr. Earth Acid Lovers Organic and Natural Fertilizer twice a year in early spring and mid-summer, or according to the directions. The root systems will appreciate a 3-4 inch deep layer of arborist mulch, pine straw, or pine bark. Just be sure to pull it back so it is not touching the stems.
Give a moderate amount of water on a consistent schedule. Use the Finger Test to determine the frequency … poke your finger into the soil to see if it is starting to get dry. Once established, Loropetalum can be very drought tolerant.
Prune to shape Chinese Loropetalum after the main flush of blooms is done. You'll likely see sporadic reblooming through the summer months. Every 3-5 years, renewal prune to keep your long-lived shrubs growing vigorously, and beautiful for many years.
