Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Growing Zones 7-9
Finding the perfect hedge plant has never been easier! The Ebbing's Silverberry (Elaeagnus x ebbingei) has so many irresistible attributes, you'll want your entire garden lined with them. From the lovely array of greenery to the fragrant petite flowers followed by edible Silverberries, this shrub will charm all who come across it! The fragrance and sweet-tart red berries are unexpected perks and will blow you away
This broadleaf evergreen is a cousin to the Buffaloberry! A compact growing, dense shrub filled with olive green and smooth silver leaves. Young plants appear to be green with silver scales and as the shrub ages, leaf surfaces become dark green above and remain silver underneath. Reaching 8-10 feet in mature height and width, these fast-growing shrubs will quickly add color and interest to your landscape!
October to November, throughout USDA growing zones 7-9, your hedge will come alive with petite white flowers. Don't be fooled by the size though, these flowers are wonderfully fragrant and will fill your yard with a sweet scent come late summer. Butterflies and other pollinators will stop by to check out the little flowers and have a quick snack too! Soon songbirds will arrive for the berries for a pre-winter treat!
Planting and Application:
Your Ebbing's Silverberry can be trained into a handsome hedge with very little effort or left alone to grow naturally. Either way looks wonderful which is one of the reasons this specimen has become a landscaper favorite. Using an Ebbing's Silverberry as a privacy or screening hedge or plant as a foundational part of your garden, means a big impact without lots of fuss, as its versatility is unmatched! Use them along your home's foundation for year-round curb appeal!
The berries of this plant are worth noting as well! In spring your shrub will have small, one-seeded, deep red berries each spring that are edible. Pick them right off the plant for a small snack, or, if you're feeling adventurous, try baking them into a Silverberry pie! You'll love the added benefit of these berries for your dual-purpose edible landscaping needs! Plant a shelterbelt row that feeds you and your wildlife, as well as blocks the wind and prying eyes as a double-duty shelterbelt!
