Looking like snowfall in summer, the Easy Elegance® Snowdrift Shrub Rose (Rosa 'BAIrift') covers itself in pure white blooms all the way to the ground all summer long. The blossoms show just a hint of an apricot color but are mostly white. No need to stay on top of deadheading for Snowdrift to keep its clean look! This beautiful cluster of blooms keeps their color before cleanly dropping off the bush.

The light green dense foliage is the perfect backdrop for the clusters of white blossoms. More disease and mildew-resistant, these dense mounds of foliage are fantastic backdrops and edging plants! Snip a few stems for your vases indoors and add these elegant blooms to bouquets!

Easy Elegance® Snowdrift is a classic Rose look without the typical Rose headaches. Current breeding techniques have made all the fuss and mess of Rose bushes a thing of the past. No chemicals are needed because it is highly disease-resistant!

Planting and Application:

These lower-growing shrub Roses are lovely in mixed-shrub borders and cottage gardens, used as a backdrop to perennial borders or as an anchor to your foundation and landscape corners. Hardscapes soften with a ring around their bases, brighten the entrance to your home, and call pollinators to your landscape!

Brighten your home while adding low privacy and screening around porches, seating areas, and patios, even in pots on your balcony or front entry! Add anywhere that you have trouble mowing such as along either side of some steps, at the top of a hill or slope, or along a sunny path, or around an entertainment area without worrying they'll make a mess.

Lovely and easy!

I ordered this midsummer in central Ohio. I have never grown roses and was worried that my timing, in the heat of summer, would be a deathly duo. I planted it carefully, digging out a large amount of Ohio clay soil and adding flowering shrub garden soil. I watered carefully on hot days. This rose definitely lived up to its name...it did amazingly well, producing abundant blooms from the time I planted it in July through September and doubling in size! This spring it has come back VERY strong. I pruned it a little about 3 weeks ago and that seems to have been fruitful as it has really has taken off since. I am looking forward to even more abundant snowy white blooms this summer than last. I am also planning to purchase other varieties of Easy Elegance roses.

Dear Sarah,

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with the Easy Elegance® Snowdrift Shrub Rose! We’re thrilled to hear that despite the summer heat and Ohio clay soil, your careful planting and watering efforts paid off so beautifully. It truly sounds like your diligent preparation and attention nurtured a thriving bush with abundant blooms—what a fantastic success, especially for a first rose grower!

Your thoughtful soil amendment and watering routine were perfect strategies to help your rose flourish, and pruning at just the right time clearly made a big difference for this spring’s growth. Since you’re anticipating even more blossoms this year, you might consider lightly feeding your rose with a balanced fertilizer in early spring and again after the first bloom cycle to encourage continuous blooms. Also, keep an eye out for good air circulation around the plant to ward off common rose issues.

We’re delighted to hear you’re considering expanding your garden with other Easy Elegance® varieties—they’re wonderful for real promise combined with simplicity. Feel free to reach out if you want recommendations tailored to your growing zone or planting conditions—we’re here to help you create a stunning rose display!

Looking forward to hearing about your garden flourishing even more this season.

beautiful rose

I bought this plant last spring and it did well. This year it really took off though! There are so many buds and blooms on this rose bush. They flowers are staying a long time compared to the double knock out rose I have next to it. I recommend this rose to add lots of color to your garden. Snowdrift is an excellant name since this rose truely is covered in flowers.

Dear Twenty2324,

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with the Easy Elegance® Snowdrift Shrub Rose! We’re thrilled to hear that your rose bush has blossomed beautifully this year and that it’s outshining your double Knock Out rose with its abundance of long-lasting blooms. The name Snowdrift does seem perfect for such a flower-covered plant, doesn’t it?

To help keep your Snowdrift thriving next season, be sure to provide it with plenty of sunlight—about 6 hours a day—and maintain well-drained soil with regular watering during dry spells. Deadheading spent flowers can also encourage more blooms and keep your plant looking fresh. Dear twenty2324,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with the Easy Elegance® Snowdrift Shrub Rose! We’re delighted to hear that it has flourished in your garden and that the abundance of buds and extended bloom time have brought you such joy. You’ve painted a lovely picture of why “Snowdrift” is the perfect name for this rose—it truly sounds like a beautiful cascade of flowers!

It’s great that the Snowdrift is outperforming your double knock out rose in blooming longevity. If you’d like to keep those blooms going strong even longer, make sure to deadhead regularly to encourage new flower growth, and consider feeding it with a balanced rose fertilizer during the growing season for extra vigor.

Thanks again for your thoughtful recommendation. It’s hopeful feedback like yours that helps fellow gardeners discover such standout plants for their own gardens.
