If you'd like to plant this in your yard, you can try by acclimating your Spruce to the outside temperatures in your area by moving it gradually to colder and colder locations by placing your plant in an unheated porch or garage where it has a couple of weeks to begin to remain dormant for the wintertime. If your ground is frozen outside, then it can be stored for the winter months in a cool garage by the window, or on a porch. Water it periodically only if needed. If the ground isn't frozen, go ahead and plant it out, water the soil and cover the plant with burlap or even straw or leaves to prevent windburn.
