Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Creating tall fountains of slender grass-like blades of dark green, these grow straight up from the top of the stem and then cascade and arch towards the bottom. Doubling as both upright thrillers and also graceful accents for the garden!
The spikey ends of the foliage mean careful handling but Dracaena are fantastic evergreen, tropical elements for containers and planters.
Heat tolerant, low maintenance plants, these are also known as the Mountain Cabbage Tree! Northern gardeners can bring these great plants indoors for the winter for an easy-care tropical houseplant.
How to Use Proven Accents® Spikes Dracaena In The Landscape
Ideal upright accent plants in mixed container plantings, rows of these along poolside or your seating areas add unique contrast and texture, plus a tropical feel when planted with other exotic plants!
Well known as a porch pot and patio planter thriller, Spikes are versatile and adaptable for balconies and container gardens for lending a tropical feel to any setting! Fantastic when used as a backdrop to smaller plants, or in the center of a planter as the central element.
At the end of the growing season, Spikes can be moved indoors for the winter. After many years of moving the plant in for the winter and back out again for the summer, it is possible to grow a unique specimen tree!
When older, these perennials can be used as specimen plants indoors or out. Perfect as high-profile focal points where they can strut their stuff in the sun!
#ProPlantTips For Care
This plant can be a perennial in zones 9-11 and reach 2-3 feet tall. In zones 3-8 it is an outdoor annual only, however you can bring this plant into your greenhouse, enclosed patio free from frost or even indoors as an exotic houseplant!
This unique and very hardy plant can be grown at any light level, tolerating both full sun to partial shade.
Dracaena Spikes fairly drought tolerant too! Once young plants are established, they require little water, however for best results be sure to water weekly when in full sun. Plant in any well-drained soil.
Feed bi-weekly if planted in a container with other plants. If your Dracaena spikes are in their own pot, feed it monthly with a balanced plant food while actively growing. We recommend using a houseplant fertilizer or Dr. Earth Exotic Blend Fertilizer for the best results.
Proven Accents® Spikes Dracaena will add exotic beauty and texture to your landscape or patio-scape this year! Be sure to order enough for your next project today at NatureHills.com!
