Preferring full sun outdoors and bright indirect light indoors, Amaryllis bulbs should be planted in enriched, well-drained soil, pointed end up, with the neck and top third of the bulb above the soil, then water and mulch well. Disliking soggy locations, water sparingly to ensure the bulb has just enough moisture to grow.
