How to Use Daub's Frosted Juniper in the Landscape
These low-mounding, foliage plants cover dry, rocky soil and suppress weeds. Their root systems also hold soil effectively.
Replace turf on a slope with Daub's Frosted as a much safer alternative. Why mow, when you can rest in your lounger, studying their intricate play of color?
Relax on your weekends with thoughtful, low-maintenance landscape design. Daub's Frosted Juniper helps you execute your plan beautifully.
Run them along your sunny borders. The bright new growth enlivens the mellow, blue-green mature foliage.
Daub's is very exciting by itself. It also partners well with other plants, from perennials to small shrubs.
Plant them on the sunny side of mature evergreen trees and shrubs to freshen up the look. Create winter interest with several Red Twigged Dogwoods and Ornamental Grasses in the middle ground.
Their sweeping form looks incredible when placed at the top of retaining walls, and at the base of large boulders. No matter if you use one or mass several together, Daub's Frosted Juniper looks fresh and very modern.
Plant them three to five feet apart on center, measuring from the center of one to the center of the next. For faster coverage, plant closer together.
Mulch between plants, taking care not to cover the branches. Pull mulch back away from the main stems, and keep newly installed mass plantings weeded until they grow together and touch.
Commercial property owners, take note. You'll draw the eyes of prospects with these noteworthy groundcovers; and increase property values, as well.
Bonsai enthusiasts can use these as an exceptional specimen. Get a head start on developing your latest living artwork with our expertly grown Daub's Frosted Juniper.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Give this plant all-day full sun. It needs six hours of sunlight for the best color.
Likewise, Juniper needs well-drained soil that quickly disperses water from rainfall. If you have marshy ground, bring in additional soil to create an elevated planting.
Pay attention to watering the first season. Apply a medium amount of water on a regular basis, if you don't receive adequate rainfall.
After Daub's Frosted Juniper is established, it becomes waterwise. However, we advise that you protect your investment with water during long periods of drought.
If you want to shorten the growth of edging plants, prune them in early spring. Shape them by lifting up the end of a branch.
Snip it back at a 45-degree angle above a bud. This technique won't negatively affect the showy form of these desirable plants.
Even though deer don't prefer the taste or texture of Juniper, you'll want to spray repellent on planting day. If you live with deer in your area, you need to train them to leave your plants alone. Reapply as directed by the label.
Order the superlative, colorful Daub's Frosted Juniper from our expert growers. Get your weekends back!
